Why is everything so damn sweet

Why are so many of the e-juices so damn sweet.

My favorite is from local Janty distributor (Twisp) a non-sweet tobacco flavored (apparently flavored with real tobacco leave oil) but at $20 for 20ml (comes down to $17/20ml if you buy 3 or more) the price is a bit steep.

Due to local custom officials people are having issues getting e-juice in from international sites so I would prefer not to try and import it myself. We have the following brand names available in SA:
Liqua (from GoRitchy)
DeKang
Hell High
joyetech
Wild
Totally wicked

Any recommendations out of this set or to the my fellow SA members other brands or suppliers I do not know of.

It's often stated that the Chinese liquids can be quite subtle compared to the American ones (can be... by no means all of them are).

I'd say Dekang might be worth a shot - I've never knowingly tried any directly, but I've tried Hangsen (who are a spin off I believe), and their fruit flavours are very nice. Not overpowering at all. I also like the 555 and the menthol, by the RY4 I'm very confused about...
