Why is Kanger subtank mini much more harsh than my herakles tank?

So, I have a 50Wistick/ Herakles tank setup, and recently got Kanger sub box mini starter kit.
My juices are smooth and taste great out of Herakles tank, and can take a nice draw at 25+ watts.
Same juice in Kanger, and I can barely draw for 2 seconds, and it's much more harsh, and hot. Tried different airflows, and nothing really helps, except really hard fast draw, at lower watts.
Any advice, similar issues? Thanx for any input.

are you using new vertical coil or original horizontal coil - i rarely go above 20-22 watts on horizontal coil, 30-40 on vertical...
I think they come with the .5 horizontal coil, but I have vertical extras. I tried from 16w to low 20's, and horrible! Do you think the verticals would really make a big difference?

verticals can handle more wattage - if you tried to fire horizontal at higher wattage, may have burned cotton - make sure you are priming coils also :)
I don't think I got above 22w, cause it's so harsh. It's not burnt tasting, just so strong and hot, that it's hard to take a decent draw. I always prime well, so that's not it. Thanx for your help.

The difference would be the coil.

well strickly speaking it depends on the coil; which coil is it and does it have a wattage rating printed on it, and is it a clone
Hmm, after checking, the original .5 coil that comes with tank is vertical, rated 15-60W. It is authentic. I think they used to include the horizontal coil. Now makes even less sense!

if cotton got burnt initially, then would not matter what wattage you run it at now - going to taste crunchy
I really doubt wick got burnt, as well-primed, and no high wattage. It doesn't taste burnt, the real issue I have is the extremely hot, harsh taste, and the fact that I can barely draw cause so strong. total opposite of my herakles, which is awesome!

original subtank mini (1 airflow hole) came with horizontal coils... all of my subtank mini + (like the one that comes with subox kit - with 2 airflow holes) have come with the new vertical coils... I have had to double check when ordering coils to make sure I ordered the verticals, since it is a bit confusing the way they are listed - but there is a big performance difference between the two

Yup, my coil is vertical, as are my extras, and it has the 2 flow holes. I'll just try new coil, and see if helps.

did you check the coil? is it measureing as 0.5 ohms?

which type of coil is it? the older design with the juice channels, or the newer design with the 2 big juice holes?

and are you using a thick vg juice.

perhaps the symtom you are seeing is mostly to do with wicking/juiceflow

now that i think about it, when the subtank mini came out, a number of people were mentioning that they ended up widening the juice channels.

or wait; is it the occ coils that you're talking about?

.5 ohm, vertical, with the 2 big holes- measures @ .5ohm. Using 50/50 juice. It feels like it's giving way too big of a hit, and really fast. I can draw nice and hard on herakles tank, for much longer. Tried with full open airflow, and other airflow settings, and nothing really helps.

if you burn a cotton wick and the cotton at the center of the coil is gone, that coil will always taste burnt until you wick it.
coil seems to look exactly like my spares. Can't visually see any damage. There is absolutely no reason that my coil should be burnt, it was well-primed, and sat for a while before use. I always start lower watt at first with new coil, and it was bad from the start. Hopefully I can figure it out.
