Does anyone really think the FDA wanted this in their sandbox?? You don't think they had enough to do already?

This isn't the FDA. Congress did this. Federal agencies don't do much that isn't "dictated" or "implied". The F.D.A. is just a bunch of people with a J.O.B. They do what they are told to do.

The FDA got it dumped in their lap and they have to deal with it. They have to deal with the "tobacco bill". The bill that congress passed and sent to them..

If I was going up against big tobacco, I would have to address all the little arguements first. They have to dot every "i" and cross every "t". We are just another i or t. They don't care about ecigs, beyond the pressure from the tobacco lobby. So pressure you representatives.

Dude have you looked the reports they have submitted they are scare tactics it's like watching the bush admin all over agian. let's just say it's not about money or more jobs for there co-workers. Or a fear of them getting less funding cause they are not making improvments. Let's just say they are really trying to help the world. Then why on this one issue are they showing incomplete reports. Normally you never ever hear from the FDA inless they are 100% completly Yea or noa on a issue

The anti smokers have worked tirelessly since the late 60's to demonize smokers and smoking. With E Ciggs they no longer have a leg to stand on, so instead of seeing smoking become "normal again" (I have heard many many times that they are afraid of e ciggs "normalizing smoking") they decided to push the issue to the FDA and of course, in our overprotected society they knew full well they would find at least ONE nano-particle of something that might be dangerous.

That's what I think about the whole thing

Since when does the FDA levy taxes?

They don't levy taxes but they make billions of dollars off of approving drugs. The pharma companies line the politician's pockets along with the FDA. The FDA is the #1 reason why pharma drugs are expensive in the US.

In my opinion, this is a mix between the FDA, pharma and the government wishing to get their hands on the money. The government will make their money taxing it. The FDA will make their money approving the drugs. The pharma companies will make their money by selling the devices and juice.

They make more money off of weed being illegal than they ever could if it were legal through using taxes to fight the "war on drugs" to fining people who sell them to using our tax dollars to house the people they arrest.

This is all about money and nothing to do with the wrong information or concern for our well being. If this was a concern for our well being, they would ban cigarettes right now. They don't because they make money off of it.

This year big tobacco had an odd change of heart, allowing the FDA for the first time to begin regulating their business. The biggest threat to big tobacco is not people choosing to quit smoking on whole because 80% of smokers relapse in a time of stress. The biggest threat to big tobacco is a safer alternative to smoking that replicates all of the pleasures of smoking for alot less money and the ability to do so with no nicotine if you so choose. So heres my theory, Big tobacco gives the FDA and Congress a check in their win column in exchange for killing their biggest competitor. Maybe it goes further like Bones was saying or maybe its going for big pharma, i dont know. But this much is certain any politician who can say he got a win against big tobacco in this day and age will do just about anything. E-cigs i think were just part of the horse trade

I think most of us feel this way which is what I suspected and the reason I made this poll. A resounding 90% of us feel we are being persecuted for dishonest and corrupt reasons. Frankly it is sickening that in the so called "land of the free" the government can lie on national television for reasons of greed and desire for control. While operating under the guise of "the greater good".

I mean really, if the government were that concerned about us, more things would be illegal and there would be more strict punishment for things like very bad illegal drugs. However, you have to have a slew of drugs on you before they will give you a harsh penalty. This needs to be changed since a lot of people who get caught don't have a slew that can be found at the time.

The current US White House is the Big Pharma administration. Look at how much power they gave the FDA with the tobacco bill. Look at the health industry reform they're putting together. The health bill does nothing to touch one of the biggest problems in the health industry - the pharmaceutical giants. American's are addicted to alot of drugs and it is big money for Pharma.
