Hi everyone,

Background

I have been vaping for 3 months now on 808 threading by SI. Basically tried everything (except for spinner and the t3 clearomizer) they have to offer and I find myself searching for more. Mainly due to the low performance and short lifespan of the clearomizer (both nano and X2 - bought only 2 each and my experience wasnt too good) while cartomizer are a pain (at least for me). Although i do love the volt std battery which are small in size :)

Question
The Ego Twist (vv: this would be an upgrade for me) plus tank cartridge system (ie, battery + atty + tank) looks pretty cool and nice to me. In addition it seems that 510 threading have quite some option out there. Also, the twist being a vv is a step up. The thing i like about it from the looks of it is the overall looks and built. It is like a pre built system. When I look at Ego battery + let say a vivi nova - somehow to me it doesnt match perfectly in terms of look.

one question thats been in my head is why "does it seems that most user of Ego will eventually move towards other tank/clearomizer like the vivi nova / kanger protank and etc" instead of sticking to the Ego atty + Ego cartridge ?

is this due to performance ? or leaking issue with the Ego cartridge ?

would like to hear the experience/expert advise and thoughts on this.

THANKS A LOT !!

I move any from ego sytle batteries early on because of performance and battery life and as far as tanks go its more about convenience then anything else for me

then, what battery are you using now ?

I am just thinking Ego Twist is vv and decent battery life and if the cartridge tank holds well, its just a matter of changing the atty. so why would ppl having this system then move towards changing the cartridge tank system to others ?

coz, to me the cartridge tank system looks slick :)

I use and ego-C with that same ego tank system and I am looking for a different tank system. Some reasons why.

1. The hard end caps on the ego tank are REALLY hard to get off and when wet with juice nearly impossible.

2. The hard end caps on the ego tank are prone to leaking and when they do it is a real mess.

3. The replacement silicone caps I picked up that are supposed to be easier to manage and stop the leaking don't allow enough juice flow so you end up punching the hole in the bottom manually and widening it which for me send me back to leaking tank. :p

4. The ego tanks do not hold much juice. I end up going through 2-3 tanks a day which means I spend a stupid lot of time cleaning and refilling tanks (and mucking with that stupid endcap).

The batterys are fine I am just looking for something else to put on it at this point.

Thanks Mogium, Kabonk, Matcacd and Myrany !!

I am getting the idea of why most people in the forum end up moving from cart tank system to basically a tank + replaceable/rebuiltable coil system.

btw, I saw this: Venus Rebuildable Atomizer

alto I am not too sure what is the main differences of this and the original cart tank system with the ego. But I cant seem to find more information on this in ECF. its like no one really talk or use this.

Hi otiose and welcome to ECF. In regards to the EGo tank system Google "ego-c leaking" or "ego c leaking"...lottsa hits. The cartridge+ atomizer "tank" system is outdated and I have NO idea why it is still being sold. It's "usually" the "weak" link in some inexpensive starter kits. There are so many different delivery devices out there that are far more reliable and cost less over the long term.

I never used the artomizer for my eGo, went straight to a basic, non-rebuildable clearomizer (CE4). One reason was so I didn't have to carry juice with me at all times and after pricing out the rebuildable clearomizer (CE5-6) and replacement parts and factoring in labor (I'm a very busy person) the cost was equivalent or less money for the disposable. (I get 5 packs online for $16.) I don't like the tank systems look on a small battery such as an eGo, I think I may upgrade if I ever go APV/Mod...

compared to everything else ive tried, the ego tank system is total garbage. constant dry hits, a pain in the .... to refill and clean, atomizers dont last, and the atomizer heads are expensive. last i saw they were like 5 bucks a piece when you buy 5 plus shipping and they just dont last. when i switched to a t3 for the first time it was eye-opening. then the same thing with gennys. cost of upkeep is dirt cheap and makes you realize what you were missing.

Thanks to all the sifu here.

I think I am beginning to have a light bulb moment in my head. The blur part part at first is due to all the naming convention of the products in the market i guess. My summary would be like:-

Battery:-
1. small battery (<=650mah)
2. bigger (>=650mah)
3. variable volt
4. variable wattage

Delivery System:-
1. atty+ego-tank / cartomizer / clearomizer
2. clearomizer+replaceable coil / cartotank / drip

Q: Is there any difference between the lifespan of a cartomizer vs cartotank or are they the same with the tank being able to hold more liquid only ? (ie, Boge 510 SR (1 Box) - Stainless vs Boge F16 Tank Replacement Cartos (1 box))

I know you said your not crazy about the cartomizers, but you may want to give these a try if your going for that sleek look: EgO (2.3ml) 1.8ohm Horizontal Coil Cartomizer. I love these for work, they hold a ton of juice, are super easy to fill, and give my Ego a nice clean look. Not to mention they give a good flavor and TH to whatever I put in them.

Typically speaking carts that are swimming in a tank will last longer due to staying wet all the time. As long as your tank isn't empty your cart will stay wet, never burn dry and never go bad from a dry hit.

They still do gunk up, most of them can handle 10-20ml before getting icky.

The F16s are specifically meant to go into a 45mm (DCT) tank.

The 510SRs will not work in any ego-sized tank that I know of.

The eGo-C system worked to get me started. It didn't cover everything I needed, but I didn't expect it to since I had tried Blu years before.
Initially, going from heavy smoker to vaper, those tanks just didn't cut it. If one worked great, it would be empty before I knew it and I'd either have to put another in that didn't work as good, or refill that one tank over and over. Dry hits and leaking I learned to adjust for, but really.. I knew something better was out there.

If nothing else, I kept everything and used the batteries for everything until I had what I think I want now to keep me going, and gave it all away to help someone else make a start.. (6 someones really!!)

Thanks everyone !!

Have been researching a bit and for me, this is what I am moving forward:-

1. will be keeping my 808 std volt and X2 batteries and maybe buying a couple CE3 and T3 SI tanks in the future to keep the system going or back up etc etc.

2. For the future, I am thinking of a system that is small enough, better battery (>=650mah), can crack up volt/watt with a good tank system. And i think i heading towards a Mech Mod + Kick. Still researching but a Legacy Mini + Extension + Kick is on my top list at the moment. Will be researching more on the top system soon. Any jedi insight are welcome :vapor:
