Better pics.
Wrap the SS wool around the wick so it makes good contact.

Uh, it's basically this again.

I really don't see how drawing the vapor through one center hole, compared to Bulli's two on the sides really changes much of anything or now makes it a 'carto'. (??)

The one i posted is basically a carto because you wrap poly filler around the inside. Like a Carto. The structural design is different than the one you posted, even though it's probably close to the same in practice.

I don't think your wick design of the SS vertical wick will transfer adequate amount of juice to the horizontal wick. In this pic you will see different wicks I tried over the years on cart with SS wool filler. The V shape coil/wick on the bottom right turned out to be the best for me.

Thanks BJ. I've been using this with Silica filler and 400 mesh for the vertical wick for about four days now. the only issues I've had are over-filling, occasional loss of contact between the vert wick and the coil, and (being press fitted back together) the cylinder case gets cockeyed in my pocket occasionally.

Over-filling is my problem. My set-up right now will take about 14 drops at a time.

The vertical wick losing contact is an easy fix- just tamp it back down with a bic pen (just narrow enough). I'll likely fix this with a tighter packing when my Wool comes in.

The casing getting cockeyed- it hasn't come apart in my pocket, and it's gotten less cockeyed that the top of my Scubagen 3.

All in all, I like where this one is going. I've "repaired" cartos before and they've never turned out as good as this for me. I'll probably still play with some of those designs. :)

ok so i want to revisit this,
i never tried a carto in a tank until last week. and was really impressed. i machined a tank for the killer 705 coming from greece and said what the hell lets try a carto. its a cheapie one with two slots milled on each side. so no i want to make one that i can rebuild, i want to get as close to the functioning properties of a carto. anybody has pics of one of these pulled apart?
im thinking to machine a base and a tube, the base will hold the electrodes like any other rba but will have one post higher than the other like a geni. i will wrap a coil around a ss tube 2mm or 2.7 use some xs-116 sleeve to slip over the coil, attach it to the posts wrap all that in filler and screw tube over it, i still need to figure out the airdelivery but juice will be fed through holes or slots on the sides.
i know its probably a stupid idea to most or a waste of time but i want to make this for me, i liked the way they taste and auto feed. just dont like the durability of them. any ideas and pictures of dissassembled cartos would help a lot. thanks
