Why won't my cartos die?

Ya. Im doing good to get two tanks out of a Boge. The way I can tell they need to go is by the straw effect. Darn carto's. I got tired of peeling stickers and punching holes so I just let the stuff sit around. Guess thats how I still have 3 from my very first order. Ya I know. Stainless. Just didnt know back then.
