Actually, it's VG that gives me that heavy congested feeling. I can't do more than 50% VG. It took quite a while to figure out.

I can't do more than 25% VG, and I'd really like to get it down to about 20%, but since I'm using WTA, it's really hard to get the mix higher in PG, and still keep enough WTA. :grr: Really looking forward to getting past 3 - 3 1/2 mos again, so I can start easing off the WTA, and easing the PG up a bit more. I don't have the chest congestion anymore as I did as a smoker, but I seem to feel breathless, asthmatic, a lot more -- I need my inhaler more often now than I did as a pk-a-day smoker. Don't know why, unless it's just that dang VG.

I'm not a cloud chaser. I only vape maybe 3ml per day at 12mg/ml. I use cartotanks at 8W, I guess I could dial it back a bit more, I've been thinking of moving down to 6mg/ml

Actually, higher nicotine level would be better, if it enabled you to vape less. The nicotine isn't the problem. I started trying this when I went to 10mg, instead of 9mg, and it is somewhat successful -- I don't go around with it in my mitt all day long.

A lot of it for me is nostalgia and force of habit. I love to travel. First thing I would do street side after baggage claim was to dig in my carry on for a cigarette and lighter and light up a cigarette. It meant I had arrived. The smell of diesel fuel from busses at some airports and a fresh cigarette after a long haul flight was just a certain comfort to me. I'll always remember that smell from when I landed in Sheremetyevo 3 in Moscow for the first time... I only travel to Prague now and the first thing I do street side is screw on an IBTanked, take a vape and enjoy the fresh air at Vaclav Havel Airport, knowing I have arrived home...

How absurd. The only way I'd go back to smoking is if I COULDN'T vape! Vaping is WHAT KEEPS ME FROM SMOKING! How would that possibly lead me back to smoking, when it's the thing I'm doing to PREVENT smoking?!?!?!

DOH!

Me TOO!! My APV is my pacifier...even if I'm not physically VAPING...I'm HOLDING it! I don't care what others think...all I care about is not running to the stop n Rob for a pack of stinkies!

That's assuming one actually has.

I only know of one current ex-smoker/non-vaper who has stayed quit for... about two years. And it's her fourth time around. At least she knows she has better options this time than relapsing into smoking.

Right, I meant those rare cases where they've quit smoking and have no intention/craving to go back. I don't personally know anyone like that.

Question: Do you think vaping makes you more vulnerable to taking up the smoking habit again or possibly less vulnerable?

I can only speak for myself. I am still engaging in "behavior" that is ritualistic comparison to smoking. I have noticed that when I was quit for 5 years once a long time ago, I never even thought about inhaling, blowing rings, or any of it.

for me, because I'm NOT addicted or dependent on nicotine anymore (I often vape 0 nic) it's the behavior that I'm addicted to. So for me, *maybe* continuing the behavior is counterproductive.

However, I just didn't have it in me to do "cold turkey" again.....and then ecigs came on the scene, and it seemed a pretty EASY choice. :) Harm reduction and I do feel better.

But because of my psychological need to continue the behavior I may at some point quit vaping because that is what I desire for myself, a goal if you will.

I could use the $$ on other things and not have to fiddle.

BUT, I will always keep a joytech ego batt + carto or clearo and a bottle o juice in drawer somewhere, to make sure I never pick up a cig again----and I can pretty much say that I'm not afraid of smoking again....you just know certain things about yourself, and I really am not even drawn to cigs at all now. As a matter of fact, I am repulsed by them, and would not go back.

Let's get serious OK. Does Vaping encourage people who have quit to start smoking cigarettes again?

No. for me.

But I am not "people".....I can't speak for that universal......there are billions of "people" on the planet, so how can anyone be so (smugly) certain that they would speak for them?

I think every individual is different

I say NO!

I may encourage them to start vaping - but so what?
You cannot understand simple thing – vaping is still harmful. Encouraging non-smokers to vape is a very bad thing. Please, remember it.
