Hi, I'm brand new! I just got my 510 today in the mail and already have a couple of questions..

#1. It come with several pre-filled carts labeled "MLB" (Marlboro?) but it tastes like grape to me. I blew some in my Hubby's face (a non-smoker) just to demonstrate how it doesn't smell and he said, "grape?" Is it supposed to taste like grape, or is that a mistake?

#2. Since I'm not interested in the grape/marlboro flavor, how do I get it out so I can fill it with some of the other flavors I ordered?

#3. The instruction manual says I can just snap the pieces together and start vaping, but they also included letter sized instructions that say I should fully charge the batts before the first use. Which one is it?

Thanks for the info...this forum rocks!

Im not sure about your flavor issue...

As far as #3.... My batteries from a diff model came mostly charged. But its generally a good idea with any electronic that includes a battery to let it get a full charge before any real use.

For other things, the battery life is reduced with each charging cycle, so its usually good to let the battery go down or completely discharge before recharging. I would assume the same is true for the ecigs.

For flavors, you can either buy other pre-filled cartridges (as far as I know though, there are very few flavor choices that way) or you can buy some e-liquid to put into your cartridge. There are vast choices when you go that route — choices in flavors and in nicotine strength.

To refill a "cart", you pull the fluffy filler stuff out of the mouthpiece, rinse out the old liquid, dry it in a paper towel, then put it back in and put drops of your e-liquid onto it (letting them soak down) until it's saturated but not puddled up on the top. Then you put it back on the atomizer and start vaping again.

There are many vendors that sell e-liquid, so you should read through the forums for some posts about it or ask for suggestions.

You can pull the polyfill out of the cartridge, then rinse the both the cartridge and the polyfill with water. Pat the polyfill dry with a paper towel, and sling/blow any excess water out of the cartridge. Put the fill back in the cartridge (tweezers or a paper clip help with this), and refill with the flavor of your choice. Getting the proper amount of juice back in the cartridge is a little bit of trial and error; too much and you'll likely get a mouthful of juice. Too little and you won't get a good vape. You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly though.

The batteries come with a little bit of a charge already on them (at least the ones I've had), but really you just need to put them on the charger until the light turns green. Doesn't take too long. I don't believe it's true that you need to let them run down fully before recharging.

Some of the tobacco type flavors you get are very sweet - it may be that (or you didnt blow out all the primer lol)
You def don't need to let them run down before charging - but they run out of charge so fast its probably not worth worrying over. I use a PT (both with inline battery and one without) because I prefer the convenience. 510s are wonderful but their battery life not so much :)
As far as refilling goes - if youre inside and not on the go (or driving) you might want to consider dripping - I love it and here is a link about it http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/66848-guide-direct-dripping.html
It saves me a lot of messing with fillers or fillers not wicking properly.
