Wick diameter vs output??

I've been rebuilding wicks like crazy because I only have two tanks and flavor jump more than I rightfully should.

I'm using organic cotton balls for wick and it seems that I get more vapor the smaller the wick is. Is this real life or am I imagining things??

Yes you can when needed, but the unwritten rule here is no more than twice per 24 hour period.

You didn't say what you are rebuilding and that can cause problems when there is too little wick for some devices. But in the general sense your observation is correct. Cotton expands once it's wet and adding too much cotton can cause it to compress in the coil when it expands, choking off it's ability to actually get liquid in there.

I think this is real life, at least to a point. Cotton wicks can get choked off if they are too tight, and they swell a bit when juiced up. Also, they hold more when they are a bit "fluffy", so less is more when it comes to cotton wicks.

Should also add the only thing I've done to fix it is add a flavor wick because I'm too lazy to redo the main wick and it plugs the open space

Block the flooding points by adding a tiny piece of cotton to that area only. Just think of it as juice flow control and you will do mighty fine.

I am assuming ts3 is similar to protanks

That isn't gonna work for a BCC. The only thing that prevents the liquid in the tank from dumping out is the partial vacuum maintained by the wick. A top wick alone won't do that - you left a big hole through the center of the coil that liquid can just pour out of. Yeah, too much wick in the center of a coil can cause a lack of wicking problem & burnt cotton. But no wick at all combined with only a relatively small amount of top wick in a Kanger = flooding.

ummm.... get an RSST or a KFC you are doing rebuilds

I build my PT/Evod coils with 30 awg around a 1.3 mm safety pin, and I usually don't get any flooding. But if the wick is thinner, try putting a top wick ("flavor wick") on top of the coil.

Cotton is unlike other wicking material. It likes to expand. The trick is to find the sweet spot... too little wick causes hot spots and uneven wicking... too much can do this as well. It's a game my friend and certainly real life.

A RSST is a genesis style rebuildable atomizer and a KFC is I assume a kayfun clone(dont see how Kentucky Fried Chicken applies in this case).

There is a thought.......gravy flavored juice. A soda company makes turkey and gravy flavored soda.

But back to the OP question I just fluff the ends of the cottn wick to cover the gaps when I rebuild protank coils.
