I'm wondering what length I should be cutting of the wire & wick for a IGO L rebuildable?
4 inches of each?
I am using XC 116 ceramic wick & 31 G Kanthal.
Also to cut the wick is scissors or toe nail clippers ok?
Maybe a wire cutter?
I am new to all of this and just want to make the right build and to use the right amount of material.
I will be using this on a Provari and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I just wanted to ask before my stuff arrives which should be around Tuesday.

4 in is quite a bit, what's your target resistance? with a provari you will have t keep it above 1 ohm (I have been able to run mine to as low as .8 ohm), BUT:

- Nowadays I mostly use mechs as I'm getting onto very low ohms, still keep my provari at hand though, but I enjoy it most with 1.5 ohms attys. With .8 ~ 1.1 ohm the provari will give you a VERY limited Voltage range (2.8 to 3.3, 3.5 max). Just by going to 1.5 ohm I'm able to fine tune things better and gets past 4.5 volts most of the time.

I normally get by with just 2.5 inches, maybe more or maybe less, once you start buying 100 ft rolls of kanthal on ebay (dirt cheap) you pay less attention to waste

I use a big nail clipper for both wires AND SS wicks, the kind you use for big toes, easier to handle than scissors

I bought 100 ft of kanthal 31 and got a few feet of the XC 116.
What mechanical mod do you recommend and how do those work??
I am guessing you either use it at 3.7 volts or 7.4 volts with 2 IMR batteries??
I would love to get a mechanical so I don't have to worry about limits of ohms.
I have 3 IMR red batteries 2000 mah would those work in a mechanical?
Should I go with the K-100?
Thanks!!

So maybe 3 inches of wick and 3 inches of wire?

You'll want about 2 1/4 to 2 1/2" in your finished coil. Cut a 4" piece so you have something to grab onto and work with. Nextel, you'll want about an inch to 1 1/2 when you're done. Just make sure one end of your wick touches the bottom to soak up juice. This stuff (the xc-116, not the xc-132) frays when you cut it. You can also double it over, like thusly ↓, and cut it after you wrap it. This will help to fight the fraying.

If you get the skinnier stuff, it doesn't fray and a single layer is easier to work with.

what pdlib proposes is a good setup, avoid stacking batts
right now I only have a Smok Natural for a mech, but have a MKB-TS on the way, vapesquad.com has a very positive review on it (92% battery retention on a sub-$100 mech)

this is the best price around right now:MOV MKB-TS (GGTS Clone)

(other people are selling it for $99)

Would it work the same way as doing it in this video?
A PBusardo Review - The IGO-L RBA - YouTube
He is saying a 4 inch piece of wick to start out with but his wick is 2mm.
So 3 inches of XC 116 to start with?
Also should I cut the ends and stuff like he does?
Sorry about all the questions, I am still new to this.
Also is the picture you posted of the 116 in the atomizer finished or does it still need more cutting.
The 132 looks like their wouldn't be enough wick in it.
