So.. I tried the rebuildable could that came with the smok tfv4 kit. It already had the coil installed. It just needed the wick.

I tried going by the instructions as best as I could. I primed it and all of that. I let it sit for 10 minutes before trying.

The vape tasted bland without much flavor. I'm thinking dry hits...? I tried it through the appropriate wattage range and it was more or less the same.

I pulled the coil to check the cotton. It was a little darker on one end but it didn't look burnt.

Does anyone know of any awesome tutorials or have any advice?

Did you use the cotton that came with the TVF4? I'm not sure what it is but if it's the same stuff they wick the factory coils with, then yeah, it's got serious break in time.

Try different cotton, Cotton Bacon is my favorite, very little break in time. Koh Gen Do or Japanese Organic Cotton is also very popular, I personally prefer Bacon over KGD.

Rayon is also very popular, never tried, can't comment on it.

I did use the cotton that came with in the kit.

It's vaping awesome now but those break in hits were torture so I probably will order some different cotton

Rebuilding can challenging, wicking is an art. Relying on factory built coils is un-good. You are on the right side of the fence so stick at it. Nothing good ever comes easily.
I will stick with it for sure.

The tutorials I've seen made it look easy but it's not (for a first timer like me anyways).

Practice makes perfect hopefully (lol).
