Figured I'd throw this up for anyone who might be interested. Just a simple way to wick the kayfun.
I leave the piece that screws around the build deck (similar to older kayfun chimney pieces) the whole time I do this. After placing my cotton in the coil so it is a little tight but still able to be pulled back and forth without moving the coil, I simply trim the tails so that they are as long as the base (not the build deck, but the bigger portion under it). Then, I take a very small flat head screw driver, and VERY gently push the tails (starting at the middle) right inside that little piece around the build deck. it bends in half while being pressed in, but it will eventually straighten out and touch the bottom. If you end up leaving the tails a little longer, don't fret; It will simply stay folded in half when pressed to the bottom, so it will not clog up the juice channels and will stay out of the way, as long as you dont shove the folded part farther down the side.
I know it's simple and probably didn't need to be posted, but who knows; maybe it will help someone.
