Wicking problems on genesis style rebuildables.

I have a DID clone and I'm about to give up on genesis rebuildables . The only way I can get it to wick, and not great at that, is to remove the fill screw and tip it upside down after every 2 or three draws. Then the problem is, it leaks all over the place if its set down. I thought about wrapping the SS mesh around a piece of wick. Anyone have any other ideas on how to get these atomizers to wick well?

The DID clones are a terrible way to try Genisis. I'm quite adept with my AGAs and got a DID clone for fun. Ended up breaking it down and making a dripper out of it. You can eek something out if you stay below 3.5 volts; but, well, hey.
