More wick less wick doesn't seem to matter. If I go over 20 watts or hit it back to back it doesn't wick fast enough.

I just don't understand how people go up in the 20's or say they never get dry hits

Even using a 50-50 juice. Some people are going high VG and say it keeps up just fine.

We're there inconsistencies in the juice channels? Maybe mine aren't big enough?

Or is it common for people to struggle with it for a while?

I just used the coil it came with and am wicking with kjd. Juice is nicoticket raz cup.

I watched rips video and thought he used waaaay to much cotton but tried it anyway. Couldn't keep up. So then I went back to my kfl+ less is more method and used just enough for it to touch the deck. It's better but still seems slow.

Yeah at the lower watts I have been fine. It's when I go over 20 or chain vape that's when the problems start. I see people saying they can go 25-30 watts and I'm not seeing how.

The nicoticket juices change so much at different heat I was able to go up to about 25 with the prebuilt heads and figure out where I liked the flavor better.

Figured out would try out the rebuildable deck. Just not seeing why everyone says it's the way to go. No burnt hits etc.

I see what your saying. At 20 watts I get burning hits. 18 is about as high as I can go. I've read some folks Dremel open the juice holes on the rba to remedy this. I am pretty sure if I tried that I'd mess it up.

My prebuilt heads were a disappointment. Coil lasted 2days. I pulled out the wick and thought it was way too much cotton. Re wicked it and it was slightly better. I was more satisfied with the rba tho.

I had similar problems with wicking on the OCC heads. Low wattages and short hits were fine, long hits and and/or higher wattages were a problem.
I suggest you try using the rebuildable section that came with the device. I built it with 26AWG wire, 6 spaced wraps at 3mm, came out to 0.9 ohms. Lots of vapor, never a dry hit even north of 30 watts. For the wicking I recommend the type that comes in flat sheets as I find it's easier to get the correct amount, and it fluffs out better wither side of the coil. You WILL need to increase the size of juice channels. I used a small hacksaw blade to cut into the existing channels about 1mm extra.
Persevere, you will get the vape you are looking for with the ST Mini. It just requires a little work.

Sorry. Coil it came with looked like 5 wrap 26 gauge to me. Comes in at .6.

5 wraps, 26 gauge, 2.5 mm ID. On the old style RBA I found it would wick better if after I put the cotton in and put the chimney back on I took a piece of Kanthal and shoved it up thru the juice holes and pushed the cotton back away from the chimney wall a tiny bit.

What ohm coil are you running and airflow setting at 14 watts?

The stock coil in the RBA reads .6 ohms. At 14 watts it's good. After your message, this morning I rewicked the same coil and stepped up wattage starting at 18 to 23 and had fantastic performance, no problems and the flavor profile was much better than at 14. I noted this time I trimmed the ends of the wick a bit. Made them slightly more narrow.

The airflow is two holes.

I am going to need to read up on this! I use vg heavy juice and it looks like it's not wicking as well as I had hoped.. thank you for the suggestion!
