I know that wicking is dependant on the build, but is there a "best" way to wick?

Pictured here is my current build (.24 26g parallel micro). I ran the cotton through the coil, snipped, tucked the ends and put a tiny sliver over

Right on. I try to keep a little pocket under the coil. The only reason for the sliver is so I don't have to constantly drip. Although, realistcally, I'm still constantly dripping lol.

Also, it seems like when I build single coils, the side of the wick closest to the top cap never really dries up, but I still get dry hits when the other side is cashed.

I'd tend to leave quite a long wick and a tuck in over the screws and hit the base on the far side rather than having flap on top restricting the airflow, you should be able to even drip less as you'll have all that empty space on the far side actually being useful :)

Depends how airly you like your draw though, personally I like my draw tight (lots of cotton padding) but unrestricted air coming in on the coils.
