Alright, I got caught by the guy at the mall. Yes, now I know my mistake, and no I will not make it again. Now I will admit that it worked for about a month. I went from 2 packs of Camel 99s to 0 and was doing great. Then I dropped it in the sink. With a load of dishes soaking. Killed the electronics (suppose I should be happy I didn't short the battery). I got it replaced for free, but then ran out of juice. I can't remember how much the stuff was, but I do remember that after getting the second bat the juice started tasting bad, and I did not enjoy using the thing anymore.
About that time I found this forum. I have been a lurker for about three years now, and have not had any reason to become a member. With the help of this forum I found that the ScrewDriver was the device that would meet my needs best. I got a MK2 from TW, thinking I would upgrade the the tank system later. Well I am no longer impressed enough with TW to make another purchase, and don't think the tank would be a better fit for me.
I have once again tried quitting smoking with my SD. My wife has also decided to quit smoking with my SD. I think I am ready to move to something else. I like the VV models, and am VERY impressed with the Genesis style atomizer (specifically the style used on the Orion V2) because I would enjoy a light hobby, and I tried majoring in Electronics, these just make me all happy and giddy looking at. But they are expensive.
Anyways so if there are any suggestions on an inexpensive genesis style atomizer I am all ears. I have looked at other rebuildables and they seem very small. I prefer the size of the components in the Genesis. I enjoy the look of the Orion in the short mode, though would not mind it in the longer mode. And its gotta look nice, as I am always asked about my SD when I step out with the smokers.
Thanks everyone for your advice and recommendations over the years. I think I would have written this off after the mall experience if it weren't for your all.

Yeah if you're going to do a genesis atty try steeljan's method MINUS the super glue! Use hot glue or silicone is even better (the stuff you use on your bathtub's joints or in the corners of an aquarium) instead. The way I figure it is that fish are super sensitive to chemicals and they don't die from silicone so that tells me a lot about it, as an aquarist.

About the Genesis, Zenesis atomizer, they are really fiddly to get right and even the tiniest of mistakes will throw it off to the point of you getting PO'd. On top of that they are incredibly expensive to buy and even harder to make without a lathe so you can form the steel. Not to mention finding the right tube. I know that Zenesis tanks are made out of a really expensive quartz that is hard to shape. Zen claims to make no money off of them, but whether that's true or not only the IRS knows.
Anyway here is a review of the Zenesis Z-Atty Pro that might change your mind with a quickness. 6 month wait, plus 150 dollar price tag for a disenchanted vaper.

Yes, I wrote his theme song for him :)

Here's another example that may or may not horrify you:

Notice the -0 amount of vapor. That's right, negative zero. It DOES exist!

Don't have permissions to see Steeljan's posts yet. Found her you tube though. Neat idea. I think some modifications to wire gauge and needle size would produce some great results. Definatly worth a try.
The video is at
DIY Ego Genesis Tank Ecig Mod - YouTube

That's what he was talking about, although why he didn't link it is beyond me. If you don't know something ask YouTube first, and Google second. You'll be surprised what you can learn by video.
It's good to see Steeljan back in action. The Trolls of YouTube sent her packing and she shut down her channel and made all her vids private but after some convincing (I helped) she came back and realized that d-bags are everywhere and you just have to ignore them. It's when you pay attention to them that they have won.

As far as the difficulty, I don't mind so much. I was an electronics major and have built transformers for some high voltage projects. There is nothing more frustrating than winding the never ending miles of wire for a Tesla Coil, just to have it break in the middle. One of the reasons I am so interested in this particularly is that it would make bread boarding easier to work out some electronics I have been thinking about for a year or so.
I REALLY like Steeljan's DIY solution. Though I am afraid of using the silicone sealant (but even more afraid of the super glue) because when it cures is smells like vinegar. I have built aquariums before, and I think the silicone is safe, but I think I would constantly taste the vinegar, even if psychologically. My preference would be to use silver solder.
Also, I think the kanthal wire was a lower resistance than the stock wires that were in the unit. These I would also replace with the same gauge kanthal. I would also double check the resistance of the needles too, as they are first Stainless, and second probably have huge amounts of impurities.
But I am also a nerd, and tend to get over involved in projects.
