I've been reading that the blu inner carts are better because of the design. So I'm wondering if I can just get on Blu's site and order some carts to swap out.

It's possible but I'm not entirely sure. I gave away my 401 and didn't try it with my Volcano/Blu carts. They seem to be the same size, maybe a hair larger, if I recall correctly. However, I can't see that there would be much reason to. The cart designs are virtually identical design-wise if memory serves (inner cart housed in an outer cart/mouthpiece).
I suppose you could always order a single pack and try it out. If it fails, you're only out a few bucks.
Sorry if thats not much help but I really can't recall and I spent an hour digging through my junk drawer trying to find a leftover 401 cart to check. Maybe someone else here can help ya out.
