I believe that is true, though when pot was legal in Amsterdam, Canada, and elsewhere internationally we still couldn't mention it here. It only recently became ok to discuss, interestingly just as it has become legal in many US states. Coincidence? Maybe.

Really, I'm just playing devil's advocate.

No, it was needed due to the current affairs with the THC cart related illnesses.
We are tied in with it now whether we like it or not.

However, I got pulled over for a busted headlight, and the cop questioned what was in my vape. My answer, strawberry cheesecake, wasn't what he was looking for. He informed me that "You can put illegal stuff in there, you know." I said oh really? That was the end of that, but maybe not so in the future. I don't think they will be looking for nic, but other substances possibly.

I wonder how he would have felt if you had said :

Oh really ? I'll have to check that out !

...thanks for the teaching lesson officer !

Oh he was SO searching for something. I could tell he was very disappointed he got an older lady and not a young kid. I drive an old "hot hatch" variety car, so he thought he had hit the jackpot.

Aannnnnndddd you dont think that adds gasoline to the current negative stigma around teens addicted to JUULs?
No. It's a fact that everybody knows except maybe the teens themselves. I'm sorry that a new generation of people are becoming slaves to nicotine but really where are their parents? And also teens are going to use what ever they can get their hands on that's illicit whether it's beer or ecstacy etc to piss off the powers that be. Today it's nicotine. It's a shame.

Where does it say that?

Where does it say anything about individuals or consumers? It doesn't. Everything I have read refers to the ban as on the sale of flavored products, not possession by individuals. Trying to find the actual text of the ban, but coming up empty. I live in a neighboring state, so I've been following this closely.

From the announcement:

"Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that New York State is the first state in the nation to implement a ban on the sale of flavored electronic cigarettes and nicotine e-liquids, following a vote on emergency regulations by the Public Health and Health Planning Council." And "The Department of Health will provide retailers with an approximate two-week grace period before conducting visits to enforce the flavoring ban beginning on Friday, October 4. Local health departments and the Department's District Offices, with State oversight, will handle enforcement. Retailers who violate the ban will face fines of up to $2,000 per violation, which is defined as each unit of flavored e-liquid or product containing e-liquid that is possessed, manufactured, sold or offered for sale."

Emphasis mine. Nothing here about consumers or individuals.

Denial of reality is what got us into this mess.

That did not say anything about consumers, I was looking for something definitive.

I found it.... "Consumers will not be subject to penalties for possessing the flavored e-cig products under the ban, he said."

Possession of flavored liquid and e-cigs are against the law in NY:
NY court denies industry request to delay e-cigarette ban

Do you see How Powerful the Press can be by just Omitting a Few Words?

In this case, "with the Intent to Sell or Distribute".

By Omitting those 7 Words, it Makes things a Completely Different context. And after seeing this happen for about the 9,999th time, it it Hard to chock it up to Lazy Generalists. Or Editors not readying copy before it is released.

It a Way for the Media to give Policy More Power than it's Overreaching, Pin-Headed Governor could.
