Okay folks, I am pretty much a new vaper, only been at it for about 5 weeks but loving it and am analog free, it was so easy, and I feel awesome. My faves are cherry and pina colada. I started out with 11mg of nicotine and now am down to six. I have decided to take the plunge and make my own e-juice, always enjoy tinkering. Anyway, I ordered my VG and PG from Essential Wholesale, great prices, 16oz of propylene for 4.25 and 16 oz of vegetable glycerin was only 2.70, UPS ground shipping was 12.20, my flavor juice I ordered from Vapor Renu. I did not order any nicotine as I am wanting to eliminate the nicotine. Finally the question, will I notice not having any nicotine in my e-juice? I feel 6mg is so minimal, what's everyone's thoughts? Also, I will be mixing 50/50 on the VG and PG, what is everyone's thought about steeping and if I should steep what is the best process? What a great site and what wonderful folks you all are, it's fun to check the forum everynight!

I would keep some 6mg on hand. You have not hit the wall yet (bad cravings) which is usually around 10-12 weeks in. Nicotine is only part of the equation. there are many more chemicals in cigs that have yet to turn their ugly head on you.

If you can do it by all means, kudos. But kep some low nic on hand for a fix = better than falling off the wagon.

You can use one of the many calculators around to mix a juice that's 6mg/ml from more concentrated nicotine. I think the lowest unflavored nic you can buy is 24mg/ml. Others may chime in if they know better. I get my nic at Xtreme Vaping, but there are plenty of other places. Scubabatdan's calculator(stickied at the top of the forum) is really great and the one I use all the time.

I'd agree with the "keep some on hand in case" comment. I've had batteries die. I've lost bottles of e-juice while out of the house (still missing you, Tastyfinger...) and each time, when the craving hit, I'd smoke. And the problem with analogs.. you can't buy 6 or 7 of them. You have to buy a pack of 20. And when you drop $5 (geeze, I can vape for a long time on $5 worth of juice!) on a pack, there's incentive to not let them go to waste.

So keep nic juice around. :p

Also, I will be mixing 50/50 on the VG and PG, what is everyone's thought about steeping and if I should steep what is the best process?

I don't steep. I've done it, as well as "aging" and I find very little difference in satisfaction on all of the levels.

Or... maybe if I do steep, it's so short that it doesn't matter. I mix up a few small bottles of vape fluid at night or right in the morning (mixing + sipping coffee = yay) and by the time I'm dressed and doing things, they're pleasant. Others will strongly disagree, so I suppose my suggestion there is find out your opinion on the matter. :) As long as they're well mixed, I personally am happy.

Let's back up here for a second. What is this "WALL" in which you speak of!? :?:
Sorry to side track this thread for a second but what in da he.. are you talking about? I've been smoke free for 6 weeks as of today and I went through some nasty 2 weeks when I first quit smoking and switched over to Vapping and I thought that was the end of it. Are you telling me the worst is yet to come! Holy sheep chit!!!!
Man... if it is, I'm glad I got some 100mg nic juice on the ready cause I don't want to go through something worse than what I've already made it through. lol
Please tell me that I've already paid my dues and that this of which you speek only applies if one stops all nic intake. PLEASE!!! :(

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

We need to go back to smoking, for a minute. Most folks who have successfully abstained from somking fro prolonged periods will categorically state that after 3 months you have it licked!

I smoked for 40+ years and I tend to elnd credence to that statement. I hve been smoke free now for 9 months. My last real craving dates back to Aug. Now last Wednesday the 17th, I had 3 cravings out of nowhere. They subsided as I dismissed them and took a couple of toots.

The 10-12 week that I was referring to is the other additives (chemicals) in cigarettes that keep you hooked. MAOIs come to mind here, which compared to nicotine (8-10 days) have far longer lasting effects (10-12 weeks). The data is all there if you care to research it.

That being said, I am also a proponent that every cig you take will reset the clock. This is also documented. That is why we have such a hard time with quitting smoking. BTW not to burst your bubble, you will still get triggers 25 years from now. At least then you will have a safer way of dealign with them :)

..........Oh joy !! Just in time for Christmas ..........waaaa

& back to OP's ? I would think even from 4-6mg , 0 is a major drop cuz zero is ZERO .

SO I would think you will know .......

Every time I use some 9mg (early diy)
I catch myself looking for cig's.... so I vape constantly

If I do higher stuff , 12mg I am not so crazed...and can lay it down some

and at 18mg my head spins but I can walk away & not think about it for awhile ...

Hopefully this last titbit helped.

OH YEAH!!! I feel all warm and fuzzy NOW!!! LOL I'm going back to chain vapping right now just in case! :vapor:

On a serious note, I had smoked for over 30 years and have tried EVERY trick in the book from Hypnotism to Chantix and everything in between. But I always fell flat on my face over time. The Chantix actually worked great and I had quit for 3 months but the vivid DREAMS became vivid NIGHTMARES and dat chit had to stop. lol
So... The moral of the story is that this vapping thing has really done something that no other process ever could. I have quit smoking and I only get a small urge once in a while but even that passes quickly. (after a major assault with my SB and a gallon of e-juice) lol

I get all my supplies at One Stop DIY Shop , they have all the equipment, bottles, nicotine, flavors and everything else you might need to do your mixing. They will help answer any questions you may have as well. They are a registered supplier of ECF and have their own forum as well. QUOTE]

We order most if not all of our DIY supplies from them as well. The only ones we've seemed to have a tough time with was the LorAnn's apple, and the Perfumers apprentice blueberry. They seem to take a long time to Steep and strenghten. But otherwise, would highly recommend :)
