Take your prov up to 6 volts on something you already have and see how it does. 6 volts on a 2.0 ohm coil will give you 18 watts at 3 amps for example. (keeps you within the 3 amp limit.) Back when I was playing around with my chid I took it to around 15 watts for a while. Too warm and too much of a flavor change for me, but you never know until you try. Higher wattage seems to mute the flavor (to my taste buds anyway).

I already have an electric angel and I've been wrapping my own coils. Don't know if my aw imr can handle it. I don't have 28 Guage kanthal just 32.

Yep, your aw imr's will handle it fine. You can build a sub ohm with 32g, and can get more wire to juice contact if you double strand it (twisted or not) but don't decide whether you like sub ohm vaping or not until you try a coil wrapped with 28 or 26g, seriously.
Yes double up your 32 it will change your life. Then get some 28 and some thick ribbon. Pm me if you want a bit of. .8 .7 and. 5 kanthal ribbon to try out.
My favorite rebuildables are Kayfuns. I use sub ohm coils in my Kayfuns (.5 to .8). With a .8 coil on a Kayfun I find the vape to be on the cool side even at 18 watts.
Drilling out your air holes will also make for a cooler vape using sub ohm coils. That's why you see people putting 2-3mm holes in their IGO's & Nimbus drippers. Big vapor clouds & TH, but usually the flavor is lacking in my experience. YMMV.
Oh yeah. Open up your air holes too. Seems very airy at first but you'll get the hang of it quick.
Buy some Kanthal 28 and try it Eric, that's the only way. I'm vaping on a 0.7ohm Cobra as I type and it's not a hot vape at all.
.5 Ohms, doubled 30 not twisted wrapped parallel on an AGA and not warm either, oh yea air hole drilled out to 1.6mm, thinking about going to 2.0 on it though

I appreciate the info guys. Makes me less nervous about the deal, makes sense. I'll be trying this out on my phoenix RDA. Quick question on it. Is silica fine with the lower ohms? I don't have any mesh here. That's another bridge for me to cross ha.
I plan on ordering some cgr panny's from fasttech. Good to know my aw can handle some of the lower ohms.
I need to bite the bullet and get a good genny like aga t2+ from big tex. I want to try that xc 116 he has as well.
I don't know which version of Phoenix you've got; but my older one tends toward the hot side of things. Maybe don't let that cloud your judgement.
