Already did thatIf you haven't started using it yet run a quart or two of white vinegar through it then 8 or 10 pots of water will descale it real good.
We were going to hook a coffeepot up to the water when we put a new kitchen in last Nov. but it was expensive even with the kitchen ripped up plus he is the only one that uses it most times and I told him that he could walk a few steps - our kitchen is not a cafeteria!! But you are right they are nice! The cuisinart does as well....you can select your brew temp....just usually need more ready then one cup, so it doesn't see much use [emoji14]
As far as regular drip coffee makers, your hubby needs a bunn.
They even have a model that you hook up to a water line....no need to fill a reservoir (we had one at the fire station)....all you gotta do is fill up your grounds and press a button
That one is very pricey though [emoji14]

How about an RO (reverse osmosis) system, or a whole-house inline filter? No go?Unless you have water Like mine................Then it will double the Scale
Bottles water only now. Lost 3 machines to it.
Many tanks offer coils that are made of nickel or titanium which are required to use in temp control.I'm exited to use the Temperature Control. But I'm not sure how it works, my current hardware has it as well.
I buy 8 at a time when they go on sale. For the $25 each, it isn't worth the cost of bottled water, vinegar, whatever. I hate throwing things away, but I've gotten tired of cleaning out lime.

I heard a rumor that anyone with more than 1000 posts in this thread was going to be banned.

Keurigs brew Hot - my husband had a percolator for years because that's the only way he could get a hot cup of coffee - so I was surprised when he bought it but it burns his mouth the way he likes it!! I don't drink coffee - but the water is super hot for tea!
