hey guys I'm going to be purchasing the velocity rda clone. I was wondering what build and what size wore I should use to get around a .5 ohm resistance. I'm running this on the I stick 50 watt
Parallel dual coils in Kanthal A-1@ 45 watts (reasonable true value) using 26 or 27 gauge...
26 ga. will provide more surface area at a lower perceived vape temperature - HF = 199 mW/mm².
27 ga. will provide less surface area at a warmer perceived vape temperature - HF = 282 mW/mm².
Heat flux (HF) is the coil(s) radiant heat, expressed in milliwatts per millimeter of coil surface area... squared. For our purposes... it's simply how warm you perceive your vape to be.
Assuming you're not into high heat flux... In a single coil, 24 gauge with the wattage turned down to 34 or less...
You want single coils, multi coil, twisted or parallel wires. Hot, warm or cool vapor. Based on those options you need from say 23awg to 34awg, maybe even a bit thicker or thinner, just depends.
