I wish you could have been at church with me this past Sunday. I kept thinking of all of you during the service. Paster Eric talked about interpreting Scripture and telling others about it - and how we often get things wrong. It was Bible Interpretation 101 and how to share what we've learned. I found the message to be almost tailor made for us here at CV, especially after last week. This is not the way his sermons usually go. They are more expositional preaching, verse by verse, as opposed to a topical discussion. And this Sunday was more of a discussion than a lecture. It was really great.
Even though you weren't here, you can still hear the sermon!! (Can I get a banana dance from the congregation?) You can even hear my two cents thrown in there. LOL Our church posts them on our website. Paster Eric gave me permission to share the link with you, along with his blessing. Philemon, PBI.mp3. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2011, AM Speaker: Pastor Eric Ickes This is the fourth message in a series on the book of Philemon. This study consists mostly of a lesson in how to interpret, understand and apply the scriptures. Godâs appro Scroll down to February 13th.
Some of my other favorites that you might enjoy are July 25th, Sept 12th, and Nov 14th
Be well,
