Start the upgrade program, connect USB to RX and then update select the rx200.bin file click update again few seconds and it's done. Easiest upgrade I've done yet with an ecig all four of mine are now running ver 3 firmware and it's definitely worth it makes this mod just about perfect.

This worked for me. I was using the USB cable that came with the RX200. I believe I read somewhere that all USB cables don't work.

Strange this is that the escribe software has no trouble connecting to it.

Thanks for all the advice guys, but I have tried 3 different cables which all work fine with Escribe...but when I analyse the computer USB hub it clearly has Evolve DNA200 USB connected to it!

The strange this is that escribe detects it 1st time every time! Unfortunately I can't upgrade from software using escribe!
Call me crazy or blame it on the massive amount of sleep I've lost recently, but it seems to me that you have a reuleaux DNA200 and are trying to upload the RX200 firmware to it? They're two different boards so it doesn't work that way.

Lets never ever speak of this again.

I'm off to kill myself out of shame.

I presume DNA200 updates happen automatically on escribe......sigh.

That is correct, the USB standard calls for all USB cables to have a data connection. But some manufacturer's make USB cables strictly for charging and these don't need data. These cables can be made in bulk for much cheaper by leaving out the data connection all together and saving a bit a money.

You're going to want to make sure you have the proper settings for your batteries in escribe, especially important for the Wismec DNA200 since not all 18650s are created equal. Your battery discharge profile and your watt-hour settings are not automatically updated.
