Hello everyone, I am a newer member here and have been on for a few months at the Reddit sub /r/electronic_cigarette. I had decided to dive into e-cigs to mainly see what they were about as the hobby aspect intrigued me. So starting out not knowing any better I had ordered my first kit from vaporfi. For those unfamiliar with this company they mainly re-brand Kanger products and sell them for 50-70% more. So not soon after my re-branded Kanger EMOW Mega arrived I found out that I had been majorly ripped off.So in order to help those who are just starting out (like I was) I decided to compile a list of good and fairly priced starter kits. You can see my short list here. It is by no means finished but I wanted to get some input from the community and see what you guys thought of these devices and if you might have better ones to recommend.

Besides the starter kits I am also compiling a list of premium e-juice brands. Which can be seen here. I would also be interested in input on this list as well, are there some brands I missed and if so what makes them good. Though I did avoid adding a few brands such as Mt.Baker and Vape Wild as they seem to be lower quality juices.

So thoughts, what can I do to make these lists better?

Great initiative Thermo! Yeah I hear you on guiding newbies. I came very close (as in, had the webform filled out with my credit card info entered close) to ordering a Halo G6 starter kit. While I wouldn't say that Halo rips people off, you can get a lot more for your money buying other brands. I ended up getting an eGo battery, 3 bottles of eliquid, a case, a charger, and a lanyard for about 60% of the price of the Halo kit.

I love the format of your lists. However (and I hope this doesn't sound discouraging), try not to put too much effort into reinventing the wheel. Have you seen JuiceDB? It's a pretty large database of e-liquids and reviews from tons of e-liquid suppliers. I myself keep my own spreadsheet of e-liquid suppliers, because even JuiceDB doesn't keep information on product pricing (which is important to me). But I'm capping my spreadsheet at 100 stores. In addition (or in lieu) of what you are doing, you may want to contribute to their efforts.

And finally, I have the regular Kanger EMOW kit. I would suggest that over the EMOW Mega kit personally. It's a bit cheaper and since the EMOW/EMOW Mega kits only come with 1 battery, you want to have some reserve for a backup if you're looking for uninterrupted vaping.

Hey thanks for the info on JuiceDB, I was unaware of that site and it looks pretty informative. While I can't say I was looking to create something so deep as JuiceDB (more of a quick guide than and advance tool) I will have to look into contributing there. I will also get on adding the regular EMOW in my list as it is more comparable to some of the others. My hope is once it is polished up it can be used as a quick tool to pass around to new users to get a feel of what is out there that is worthwile.

I did just that. I would also include the iPV Mini if only it came with a battery. Some do and some don't.

Sent from my HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon edition

Awesome, thanks! I have a few other mods listed that don't usually but sometimes (depending on the store) do come with a tank, so if there is a listing of the IPV Mini with a battery at a particular store I see no reason not to list it.
