Would appreciate advice from wise e-cig people re: ego-style vv battery choices

Hello wise people,

i have a ego-t 1000 mah kit and have spent over 400$ on juices, (ms.t's, virgin vapor, mapleleaf vapes, jugheads & vixen vapors) and different atty tanks (a and b), vision clearomizers, dct and a 306 atty and lr 501 atty, oh and a stone tank. Everything was bought from many different vendors both in Canada and the US.
So,
i am experiencing a burnt taste with ALL my juices on the 306 and 501 attys when i drip. it's harsh, and everything tastes awful. i just can't figure out dripping! I drip 3 drops, blow out attys, have cleaned them with baking soda and vinegar, used vixen vapors flavor eraser all with no improvement.
the stone tank, smoketech dct and clearomizers work better, still a mild burnt/acrid.chemically taste but flavour is muted, shadowy at best.

This is more expensive than smoking, which is saying alot for a Canadian as cigarettes are 11-12$/pack! I'm struggling greatly and dissatisfied with vaping, I have yet to experience the pleasure of all juices flavours. Perhaps I have mislead myself by watching reviews of flavours: are my expectations too high? ms.t's and virgin vapor juices certainly stand out in my collection, but still even with triple flavour added to some brands, I can hardly taste them.
I'm so confused and hate the burnt taste when i drip, and the boring taste on the clearomizers/dct.
I was thinking, could it be my battery?
I want to buy one more thing as a last ditch attempt to enjoy vaping and get me off cigarettes- I thought a VV ego-style battery might help. is vv the way to make flavours come alive in your mouth?
I've looked at:
visions vv Xl 900mah
the ego booster
joytech ego-c twist (can i use that with non ego-c atty's)?
ksd ego vv passthrough

Which one would you recommend? And, would it solve what is happening?

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Hi there!

You and I are in exactly the same boat. I don't know much more than you but I completely sympathize. I started out 3 months ago on the ego-T kit and at first thought that was wonderful. Then got fed up with the leaks and messiness. Moved up to the ego VV with the stardust, at first it was wonderful but a couple weeks later it's back to being blah. In the meantime been ordering different juices from vendors hoping for a miracle. But now I feel like I have sore throats, dry coughs and feel yucky. Feel like I can't taste the juice properly. So yes, I have spent a crazy amount of money as well. Now they come out with the Joye ego Twist and I am gonna give that a whirl. I just ordered it today. But in the back of my mind, I am thinking why do I keep wasting my money on this crap and I think I'm going to invest in a ProVari but don't know anything about tanks, etc. I've never used cartomizers, I can't stand atomizers and I can't get into this dripping thing. I just want to fill up a tank, screw it on my battery and away I ago. Keep it simple. The only advise I can give you is skip the ego VV and go to the ego Twist as they are priced very close (canvape). I know my answer is not much help, but Thanks for letting me vent right alongside you!

ps: I am thinking nothing is being made to last more than a couple weeks and then they come out with something new & better (supposedly). The only thing I've seen that's consistent for awhile is the Provari.

Welcome to ECF, eh? :thumb: and congratulations for making an honest attempt to get off the stinkysticks.

Now, you don't say whether you are still actually smoking tobacco cigs or how long it has been since you gave them up. You need to understand that it WILL take some time for your sense of taste to re-establish itself and get back to 'normal' - anything up to a month or so, in some cases.

You also didn't say how much you used to smoke - this is important as you may need to adjust the liquid's nicotine level to keep the cravings at bay.

Dripping, IMHO, is for advanced vapers. For the noobs, I would advise a polyfill cartomizer - Boge 2.0 ohm are a consistently good place to start - and just two or three flavors of liquid. Get to know how to get the best from a simple cartomizer and get used to your device before changing out the flavor. A good place to start with the liquids is at 80% PG to 20% VG - this will give a good throat hit and flavor...if you want a softer flavor and smoother vape then increase the VG content.

Variable voltage simply means that you can deliver more power to the heating coil, so making it run hotter. This can improve some flavors but can also kill others. Personally, I would get your technique and flavor preferences down first before spending on more equipment. Also, from what I understand, most tank systems are not that reliable (in terms of performance and leakage). I tried them once but didn't like them. The cartomizer tank (basically, a cartomizer in a large bore plastic tube) is the way to go for more juice capacity and increased vape time.

Don't give up...It seems to me that you are in danger of being overwhelmed. Just remember, YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary - what works for some might not work for you and that the enjoyment in vaping is the journey itself.

Good luck!

Hi...I've got the Twist & must say I really like it. As to your juices - that's another story. You're going to hear alot of 'taste is subjective' & that's true, however, I really got tired of spending for juice that I HATED! Long story short - DIY. I've found approx. 4 different juices that I like-each from a different vendor & I find myself mixing them all together w/my own - best I've come up with. Sorry for rambling on....just want to wish you luck in finding what you want - I know you will.
