could a high power LED be used instead of a coil in an atty? cotton pad over it

no more dry-burns, just get a new q-tip, lol

...i was perusing the LED drivers for something that could fire an atty - some do say 2500 mA regulated output (anyone know if that might work?), but then I wondered

Many of the max working temps that I have seen for LEDs are around 50ºC (122ºF). This is too low for an atomizer and if it goes higher you risk damaging the LED. Maybe there are some out there that can take the heat but they must be expensive. Also it would probably take a bit more time to heat up.

To be honest it's pretty hard to beat nichrome.

You need to get the temps up to around 200-225 degrees F to create fog with PG and VG. The flash point is 225F. That's the point that it starts to vaporize. It doesn't flame until 700 degrees F.

I'd stick with nichrome wire. It's cheap and effective. I've always wanted to drop some PG on a hot light bulb and see if it vaporizes without cracking the glass. I haven't gotten up the nerve to try.

laser atty? ive seen a tread about this... but it seems at the end it just took too much power... and you have to adjust the lens to the color(?) of the juice
