It would be great if there could be some standardization to these products. It's extremely difficult to know what to buy, and the components often don't work well. Does anyone think it will get better in the future? Or, is it destined to be "buyer beware"?

We began with steam trains and now have everything from 150mph Pendolinos in the UK to the awesome Beijing Linear Railway. Yes it will get better, it's still in the infancy stage.

I get frustrated with all the re-branding. I understand that suppliers want to make their particular model seem unique by giving it a different name, but it makes it difficult to know what's compatible with what.

I completely agree. You have to be a very diligent buyer when dealing with PVs. 8-o

IMO, i think some of the suppliers want a customer to think that they can only purchase replacments from them. In essence, assuring repeat business.
I always thought the more information you give the customer, the better they feel about the purchase..

That's the way business runs. Besides, I don't think you would be happy with only 1 standard model to pick from. Think of it, everyone driving the same kind of car, wearing the same clothes, watching the same brand of TV. The cheapest guy would have all the business, and the rest would go broke. And if it was a bad product? You'd be screwed.

I also agree. I like the suppliers that mention the model number regardless of whatever they've renamed it.

As far as the 901 goes....I'm still confused with that one. I first bought an EM-901 and then found it's not compatible with other 901s, so that was a waste of money and is now a 'disposable' since I can't get parts for it. I also thought all penstyles were the same. Wrong again. The penstyle I have is a kr-108---another waste of money. Then I bought a 901 from Eastmall and now I don't know what a 901b or a 901*insert some other letter* is and whether those parts are interchangable. I also don't know which one is th "New 2009 901".

I've wasted so much money on trial and error. When that counter in my signature starts counting how much money I've "saved" that will be a hugh joke. Money 'saved'? Yeah. Right.....

*sigh*

Hopefully I will have saved money in the long run, but in the meantime I'm still glad to be vaping and I am grateful for ecigs!:thumb:

I got lucky. RN4081 and M401. If you want a mini, I'd suggest one or the other. Both vape great and give a good hit. And parts for both are readily available from a number of sources.
