I purchase prefilled carto's to try out flavors. Mostly they are either WOW or Premium flavors and I purchase blank cartos as well.
If I like the flavor I then purchase the juice and refill my carto's several times.
I've noticed that sometimes when using a syringe to fill or refill carto's the needle doesn't want to go down into the filler; as if the filler is either really thick in that area or it feels as if there is something stopping the needle (which I know there isn't); so I'm assuming the filler is extremely compacted in that area. Am I correct?
What I normally do is push the needle up and down in the compacted area until the needle moves freely up and down, then I proceed to fill the carto with juice.
I'm presuming this is much like 'fluffying' out the filler as you would in a 510 cart.
Am I harming the carto in any way by doing this?

I don't know how that would harm the performance of the Carto at all. It is strange how some Carto can be wrapped really tight while others are pretty loose. As well, it certainly does take longer for the juice to be fully absorbed when the fill is tightly wound. I've tried to loosen up the fill a little by poking it with a safety pin, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

The only time I let a refilled carto sit for a couple of hours is when I get one that has tightly packed fill. Most times when I refill a carto I start vaping it immediately. It does seem that the Premiums have a higher ratio of tightly wound fill, as opposed to the Cool Cartos.

have you considered ditching the syringe altogether? i just started this week. i've been topping off my cartos nightly. i hold the carto at an angler and add four drops as i turn it. then i hold it in my hand and swing it around twice, like an underhand fast softball pitch. this drives the juice into the polyfill. i can usually repeat this 3 times. if i drive a little out the end, i know it's full. (i leave a condom cap on the atty end)

i also have an XL battery, and a large rubber band. i tied the band around the end of the XL and do my "taryn spin" with it. this works especially well for driving out the original fluid in a prefilled carto.

i don't like needles! so i'm glad this method works for me. maybe it will work for you too.
