I just read this article and either A) I'm a jaded idiot and e cigs are terrible for you or B) this is the biggest load of malarkey ever. You tell me.

Health Basics: E-cigarettes; are you trading one bad habit for another?

I dunno, I find myself doing two, three cans of Coke a day now. If that's not available, Pepsi will do. :)

That article is seriously distorted. Sure, nic issues happened. There are nitrosamines in nic juice...at a rate less than 1/100th that of a cigarette. Propylene glycol is GRAS (generally regarded as safe), although there aren't any long-term studies regarding inhaling large quantities all day long for long periods.

Given that DJs don't show severe lung issues from fog machines, I'm somewhat disinclined to worry. Hospitals often use small amounts of PG in their air systems to disinfect.

And we know that cig smoking is unhealthy. There's a 100% chance of that...although it certainly doesn't inevitably lead to a smoking-related disease, I don't think there's a smoker who doesn't have slightly more limited air capacity in the lungs.

Now how many times has a slip happened in the cig production process that nobody ever bothered to point out?

Sitting down, facing forward.
I never heard of that magazine before, and given the complete, uninformed, incorrect information in it, will probably never read it. I did read the comments below the article and they did show some of their readers are astonished by that article. One even cited a previous article in that same magazine claiming nicotine had health benefits. Just junk on the internet is all that is.

:vapor:

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

As far as what is said I believe I'll folow the advice that my Lung Specialist told me. They haven't been able to prove that the juice I'm using causes any harm. That the amount of nicotine is about what is in a cup of coffee and that since I've stopped the 2-3 pack a day habit and started vaping my lungs have never sounded clearer and my B/P is almost normal.

Even if I were trading one bad habit for another, the question that begs to be answered is...

...WHAT DOES IT MATTER TO YOU?

I'm either going to smoke or I'm going to vape. So unless you (figuratively speaking) can suggest a viable alternative to vaping, you can keep your opinion to yourself.

That's the first thing. The second thing when reading these articles is...consider the source. Knowing that there are vested interests seeking the downfall of the electronic cigarette industry immediate renders negative articles suspect.

As long as you're reading articles, you might find this one interesting:

News Headline Story | equities.com

You can follow that up with several articles here:

with special attention to the article entitled

"Anti-Smoking Groups that Opposed Electronic Cigarettes Accepted Money to the Tune of $2.8 Million from Pfizer Alone in 2011-2012":

Well there is a lot of BS in this... First e-liquids are not sold to minors .. Second .nicontine strieght the don't exceed 03.6mg but for who wrote this a 36mg marked on jiuce bottle is 36mg not 03.6 / 3.6mg ..
3. diethylene glycol ..is not in e-juice !! Propoline glycol is .. Which is used in almost 90% of factory made foods today... So let's close them factory!!!!
Then they wrote that to real stop smoking or inhaling nicotine you need a real program called "14andout " which they put on a link to watch a 60 min video...
14AndOut!

Oh and by the way it's a 40 dollar course ... So much for moral ethics and concern for others health..

It has BS writin all over it this article.....

Someone got paid to write the article and then publish it, yeah money passed hands. The question is, whose money? I don't think it's big tobacco, I have a pretty strong suspicion it's big pharma, hmm... They have lots of money to lose if their gums, patches, chantix, and soon anti nic shots don't sell, hmm...

I'll vape on that!

I will have to agree with many here. This is a load of Malarkey. I have read plenty of medical studies and reports from health specialists that show e-cig products are much better for one that any tobacco products on the market. I have even seen many reports from Europe that the health systems there are moving people to e-cig's to remove people from actual tobacco use and reduce health risks. So I would recommend looking for other reports and articles.
