I've been using an eGo vV2 Mega and a Protank 2 for the last 111 days that I have been tobacco free and its been going pretty great. Even with an air hole drilled in the protank's collar though it really doesn't hit that hard and I have always wanted something more.
My brother got me into vaping (God bless him) and he started modding a few months ago and I am happy to report that I have now joined in the fun.
Finally in the mail today arrived my RSST, HCigar Nemesis Clone, 2 Sony 30A VTC4 18650s, SS Rope, SS Mesh, Kanthal Wire, and a host of other necessary items I needed to fill the addy, oxidize everything, and of course my multimeter to test the resistance.
For the past month or more I have been reading posts here and watching youtube videos and talking to my brother on the phone about the setup. Also I am an experienced Avionics Technician in the US NAVY so I felt prepared for this evolution.
Honestly I just followed directions from the wealth of information out there and didnt get in a rush and on my first wrap I had no hot spots or legs when I started to pulse. I couldnt believe it. It was glowing from the outside in at first but I made some very slight adjustments and poof it was glowing like a champ.
I filled up the tank and took a deep lung inhale.... WOW! What a difference! I thought to myself. "Now THIS is vaping!" I love it so far and really enjoy having a shorter setup that hits like a truck. Very satisfying.
I guess what I really made this post for was to say thanks to everyone here for all the info I picked up along the way. Modding can be extremely overwhelming at first with all the different options. Best advice I can give to someone interested in starting is to take your time and do your homework to figure out exactly what you want out of your vape and what fits your life-style.
Here's a few pics. Thanks again all!
