Wrong atty? Looks like 306, not 510

Well, I got my mini last week, only to discover that the LR attys I'd gotten weeks before in anticipation were the wrong thing (they were wrapped in white foam with only the ends showing, I'd looked in the box to check quantity and size when they arrived but didn't remove the foam 'til the mini was here...and then saw that the barrels were etched "HV") That vendor say's he'll make it right when they're back in stock.

So I ordered from another vendor, they arrived today and, while I've never seen a 306 in person and and only have Joye "standard" 510s to compare with, I really think these are 306s. Stare as hard as I might, I do not see any sort of cap/barrel gap, this looks like one piece from top to the bottom rim above the screw threads. They are also a good 1/2 inch shorter than the Joye 510s (and the 510 HVs that were mailed back to the other vendor last week were the same, longer length).

Hopefully some kind soul can understand my description and confirm that I've got the wrong thing (or can tell me how to deal with them if they're not...they're 2 ohm Cisco specs from Avidvaper, if that helps). I've written them but, of course, can't expect a reply until sometime tomorrow

The road to reonaut-hood has been a bit bumpy for me. I like the mini (don't even care that the door's not the color I ordered), it's a solid piece of gear and may just be my dream machine, but all I've had to try with it are standard 510s and, honestly, while the vape's a bit stronger than my eGo clone's, the flavor is fairly flat with the subtle flavors I tend to use most.

Sounds like the 306. Here's how you get them apart.....screw one onto the REO then tug the cover off. (I cannot get them apart any other way) It would be best if you had a 306 drip tip, but if you don't, I guess you could leave the cap on (or put it back on...) and vape that way. The 306 is great, but you have to keep them pretty much soaked for them to work right. I like my LR 510s, but people here swear by their 306s. Once you tug the cap off, then you'll see the exposed bridge and see what you're dealing with.

Sounds like you got 306 ... maybe .... errr hard to tell by just the description.

I've had two Avid orders arrive with the wrong attys in the last 6 months .... kinda irritating :(

If they are 306 they would work, but they take a different drip tip ..... you can see why.
Hope you get it straightened out quick.

I've had a couple vendors sending me the wrong attys/cartos lately. I'm not going to name them but shipping is slower also, maybe they are all super busy. Or they are slacking lol

And I thought it was me setting a record in bad luck!

To my surprise, they've already emailed me back (despite it's being well after 5) and, while they didn't actually *say* that these are 306s, they're sending a new package tomorrow and I have instructions for returning these. Good customer service so far, for sure.

I don't think I'm ready for the 306 yet...think I need to master "squonking" first. Right now I'm erring on the side of dryness, nothing that'd burn up a standard 510 but I'd probably be a 306 serial killer.

Thanks for replying. Sorry for not sending a photo but they're too little to get a good image with my cell phone (and I haven't worked out how to post images anyway).

I love the look of those pyrex tips on a 306...once I'm a bit more adept at the whole bottom-feed thing I might be tempted to try them. Meanwhile, I'm reasonably confident that, one of these days, I'll actually have a LR atty to try on my mini and all will be well. At least both vendors have made the right noises.

If you get a 306 atty with a clear cannon drip tip, you can see your juice. Just get enough in there so it's almost up to the top of the bridge and you're golden.

That high, huh? Wow...I would've figured that would be well past flooded. I'll tuck that information away and remember it.

Well, the 306 atty is much more compact.

See the coil? I find you need the have the juice level around 3mm above the coil to avoid dry hits. I'm not entirely sure why, but that's my experience.

In my limited experience with the 306, a scorched wick made it taste a lot like a dry hit after two pulls. The wick is stuffed on top of the coil, underneath the bridge (in that picture, it looks like it has been removed). After pulling out the wick (with a toothpick and tweezers), I could start with it almost flooded (almost to the top of the bridge) and vape it until it was almost bone dry without getting a dry hit.
