Lxrubin,

It isn't illegal. It is banned. Everything has not been regulated or tested but there is a group of vendors working towards that. Very hard to say why they are against it. Taxes? Loss of revenue? Some say Big Pharmaceutical and tobacco companies will loose, and Health Canada will loose funding because of that. It is a battle, but it is a battle worth winning.

Hope your friend converts...:) I must ask WTA? Not sure if I know what you mean?

WTA is Whole Tobacco Alkaloid e-juice. I had to look it up!

Here's a description:

WTA contains minor tobacco alkaloids along with nicotine in the form of a traditional e-liquid. The process used to purify nicotine from tobacco for traditional E-juice is rather specific in that it isolates the nicotine with very few traces of other tobacco alkaloids. The WTA extraction method includes these other alkaloids.

WTA is for people who no matter how high they go with nicotine concentration, they still can't stop smoking cigarettes. Honestly, if you're doing okay with nicotine, why get yourself addicted to something else? Gentlemens Reserve which is a Canadian company sells one WTA juice, I don't know if they still do but I know they did. There are many great US vendors that sell WTA.

There are addictive ingredients in it? I thought it was more for flavour then anything?

There are some chemicals in tobacco cigarettes that a small percentage of smokers are sensitive to, even if they don't realize it. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are one set that we know with certainty, and whole tobacco alkaloids may be another. Those with these sensitivities miss them when they're gone, and subsequently tend to have a great deal of trouble switching exclusively to vaping E-juices that do not contain them. So far none that I am aware of have MAOIs added (though there has been discussion about it in the past), but you can get WTAs added, and this may help those who are having trouble converting.

For those that do not miss them however I do not recommend buying juices that contain them. WTAs are carcinogenic, which is the sort of thing we switched to vaping to avoid, but for those who are having trouble getting over that hump to vaping exclusively, they may help.

FlavourCrafters sells several tobacco flavors in WTA as well.

I don't think so - WTA is very very different from FC's "Tobacco Absolute", or "Tobacco Extract".

Here's a description from FC's website: "Natural Tobacco Eliquids are made using a flavouring ingredient referred to as

"Tobacco Absolute", or "Tobacco Extract".
Tobacco absolute is a flavouring extract made from tobacco. The nicotine and most nitrosamines are removed from the absolute leaving a flavouring extract that is similar in quality to food grade flavourings.
Tobacco absolute has been used for many years as a flavouring additive by the Tobacco companies to improve the flavour of their commercial cigarettes.
In the eliquid industry Tobacco absolute is used by many eliquid manufacturers including Dekang, and most of our major North American competitors to create tobacco flavours that are similar tasting to commercial cigarette brands.
Although the nicotine has been removed from tobacco absolute used as flavouring in the eliquids in this section, they still may contain traces of tobacco specific nitrosamines and do contain a tobacco bi-product.
If you would prefer to purchase a tobacco absolute free eliquid please refer to our artificial tobacco eliquids category."

From Aroma E-juice

"Aroma E-Juice Whole Tobacco Alkaloid FAQ

What is Whole Tobacco Alkaloids e-liquid (WTA)?

WTA contains minor tobacco alkaloids along with nicotine in the form of a traditional e-liquid. The process used to purify nicotine from tobacco for traditional E-juice is rather specific in that it isolates the nicotine with very few traces of other tobacco alkaloids. The WTA extraction method includes these other alkaloids.

How is WTA produced?

Aroma Ejuice WTA is produced by using a less specific isolation method from whole tobacco leaf. Nothing is added, it is a process to isolate more from the tobacco than just nicotine. From the prevailing literature, the alkaloid profile of tobacco is approximately 95% nicotine and 5% minor and trace alkaloids. WTA aims to provide tobacco's alkaloid profile in an e-liquid form while excluding thousands of chemicals that are present in tobacco smoke."

Gentlemens reserve sells tasty vapor tobacco maceration e-liquid. I eagerly ordered their eliquid to try, only to find it is NOT the same as WTA as it has no perceivable psychological effects.

I am dying to get my hands on some WTA ejuice, but so far the only vendor selling it will not ship to Canada (or respond to my messages for that matter)

:(
