X cube 2 screen brightness.

Is there something I'm missing. I just got the x cube and I'm loving it but I notice the screen isn't really bright and the contrast is set to 100

If you have a black one, that's typical, the outer screen is tinted.

It's the stainless steel one

Sadly, not much you can do about it.
