So, I have been modding the X7, but it does take a little while. I will go over the mods in the review of the X7, but I would like to know of peoples success with their mods. Once these are modded, they really work awesome.

I did a little teaser video:
X7 Preview - YouTube

Feel free to let me know of any mods that you do, and I will try them before the review/mod video, and include them.

Thanks.

Thanks timh. I cut the wick flush to the opening, and it has helped a lot. Also, the juice veins are very small, so I used a nail file to open them greatly (going to dremel them flat next). I haven't tried opening the slot, but I did find that wick compressed a little when it closed, so I pushed a little wick into the center (to get it out of the opening). The result is in the video.

I am using 70/30 with it, but I am going to try some 20/80 tonight. I will make the hole a little bigger too, as suggested, and use that improvement too.

looking forward to your modding tips, I want to like these but despite following bads tips on filling I am getting liquid out of the vent holes on occasion as well as gurgling every dozen or so hits which requires me to blow it out.

I haven't had one leak yet, but I did pull the wires out of one. I've had gurgling on occasion, but blowing into the unit clears it up. I haven't had any come out the end though, so I think the juice blew onto the coil. So, I've stopped pulling it off my PV.

When they hit, they hit very well.

I just received my first pack of X7's today. They are 2.4 - 2.6 ohm. Filled the first one out of the box following Chris's video and no leaking so far. I'm getting good amount of vapor but very little TH or flavor. Which leads me to think not enough juice is wicking to the coil.

So I could use some tips on modding these. Can you pull the tubes off like you do with the fluxomizers?

Thanks

Iam using a 15/85 home brew and cutting the slots deeper is all I have done for now .I will
try that for a while so far so good. Let know hoe it works for you.
Tim

I just did one, and I am going to play more with it. Some may need more modding than others. I am going to see if I can tell which ones need what kind of mods. I usually take 3 or 4 back-to-back draws, when I vape. I wonder if that is a factor. :)

I had one yesterday where I was able to thin the wicks, and it worked well. I wasn't able to power hit off of it. There was an imperfection in the juice vein, and once it was fixed, it worked much better.

@opsguy You can pull the tubes off, but you need to push the inner tube through, or you may pull the wires out. I am going to show the dismantling in my review.

You got that right. I tried to be careful but the inner tube pulled forward just enough to break the wire. Lesson learned.

Thanks for the tip and I will be sure to watch your video when you have it up.
