XL single-logo batteries plus Greencig carts....

Hi all. I LOVE auto batteries. I have a couple - short and medium. I use them interchangeably with my carts plus my Greencigs. However, in my quest for longer battery life I ordered (and rapidly got!!) 2 of the super long auto batteries (single logo).

I absolutely LOVE the light draw. Love it!

However, I get a big fat NUTHIN with a Greencig cart on it.

What kind of adapter can I buy to make it Greencig-compatible?

Thanks for any help!

:)

The GC supplier I imagine you may have gotten yours from has an adapter for KR8/901 to GC now, altho it's out of stock atm. (Will add, myself and another person I know of ordered it right before they ran out, and apparently received the wrong ones, which I would guess was just a fluke others don't need to worry about. Didn't work with V4L autos or manuals of any length. Know of a couple others using it successfully, tho not sure of the batt brand in both cases.)

But if you mean that other (non-V4L, non-XL) auto KR8s you have do work with GCs without an adapter, dunno the details on that. Tho I do recall reading that one or the other of auto or manual KR8s work without an adapter, which was confusing because it doesn't seem to match what all users end up reporting.

The poster 'MikeDeason' recently commented over in that GC territory that he specifically liked the adapter referred to above with his V4L batts; and I think he uses or also uses autos, but not sure offhand or sure what length. (He has lots of posts in this V4L subforum tho.) Maybe you could try catching him on that other thread 'over there' too. That supplier may not know for sure either what the diff would be, as many seem not to stay abreast of product inter-compatibility. FYI, my V4L batts are all from 11/09 to about 01/10, and V4L's batts were tweaked after that, tho I wouldn't expect that to be related here. Not sure when Mike bought his but think some have been recent ones.

Then there are always the workarounds like perforating a small hole in the 'G' of the carto's 'GreenCig' logo, or using the staple mod. (Fun fact lol, I also have an adapter received in an order from China that works, altho it didn't claim it would and I have no idea why it does! Real helpful that, eh? :p)

Thank you kindly, Miss Mia.

I have four sorts of batteries.

The black Greencig batteries. Work great on both Greencigs AND KR808 carts. Love 'em, but honestly don't think they are all that. Though a lot of folks seem to think so.

The medium length KR808 auto battery. Exact length as a Greencig battery, works on KR's or Greencigs. One in particular, a newer one (a brushed silver looking one) has a superb draw, where older batteries really don't draw that well. It needs no adapter.

And of course, the KR808 auto shortie. Love em and they work with everything. Great draw.

The newly ordered extra-long KR808 battery from V4L. About an inch longer than either the Greencig battery or the great drawing silver KR batt. But only works with KR808 cartomizers, not Greencigs.

I will get in line for the adapter you mention on the hope that the XL length of V4L's new auto batt makes it worthwhile. I really don't want to go to a mod, even a 3.7, but I would like to pack perhaps one extra battery and stop dragging chargers around with me. I also like switching throughout the day between Greencigs and KR808 carts.

Thanks again for your help!

A lot of people, far more experienced than myself, swear that V4L XL batteries, especially the manuals, are comparable to passthrus, at least initially, with the convenience of portability. I also like their regular manuals, but they are 280 mAh, so they don't last as long as as the 380 mAh XLs.

I love the performance of the XL's, but they're just too unwieldy in general for me, Katya. I live by the regular autos. I just have enough to keep them at nominal voltage.

I know, doll! Give me an auto, or give me death. I've read your posts! :p
I like them both, I like the analog-like feeling of the autos, but I also love the serious performance of the manuals. On the go, I have my autos with me, but when I sit down and want a nice vaping session, I choose the manuals. I also feel safer using manuals with freshly refilled cartos. I'm always nervous about ruining my autos.

It will be worth it, the XL batt life is so very nice (I do use mods too and still think/know so! :))

Btw, I came across some of your photography recently and... wow! Just WOW! Gorgeous!

Thank you Mia - you're very kind!! Sounds like the XL auto's have some serious fans. I LOVE the KR carts on them. Have a Camel on one right now, alternating with a Mint Greencig on my medium sized one (the one that doesn't need an adapter).

I'm pretty careful with my autos when refilling. So far (knock on wood!) haven't flooded any of them. I'll keep hunting that elusive adapter. :)

Nhaler has an adaptor that allows you to use Greencig cartos on V4Life batts...Just don't over-tighten it or it won't work. I loosen it off a touch and it gives a great draw.

Good tip for ppl to know about. In my case however the adapter turned out to be a 901 batt > KR8 carto one (yes, tis necessary going in that direction) instead of KR8/901 > GC. I can make use of it tho, so no biggie. :)
