Hello I recently purchased an xtar charger with input 5.0V DC /500mA which only came with a usb for charging so I had to purchase a wall connector.

my wall adapter says 0.3A Input and 2.1 A output

Both are 5V and I just wanted to make sure the small difference in mA to A wouldn't make a difference. So far the batteries have charged cool and the charger does not indicate any short or problems.

Thank you

You will be fine. The charger will only take the current that it needs. So long as the voltage is right (it is) and the current is over the 500mA the charger needs (it is, well over) then you are perfectly fine. In fact it is a good idea to have the amps over-specified -- many power supplies decrease voltage as they get close to their current limit. That's not dangerous either, the charger will have circuitry to cope with it, but it might mean it charges slower.

Another problem is when the current limit is a lie -- plenty of cheap imported power-supplies are badly made and have inflated ratings. Running it well within the ratings will put less stress on it.
