outside the box
I recently dropped my only charger on the concrete and the internal transformer broke off the board. It was one of the CHEAP travel chargers with AC plug built in.
I had to order a replacement quick. After very little research I decided the xtar WP2 fit my needs and budget.
2 days later I got it, kudos to the distributor.

Charged a pair of AW IMR 18650 2000mAh at 1000mA
Charged a single AW IMR 18650 2000mAh at 1000mA and fired the external power supply.

I happen to have a box full of external power supplies and several with the same power ratings, they seem to work just fine.
I can't afford to go without a charger, I'm not asking the distributor for a replacement, I just thought it should last more than 2 charging cycles before having to replace a critical component...

I will be ordering a 2nd charger and more batteries, I'm not really exited to go without again. It was going to be the xtar WP6 but I don't know now.

The Xtar unit itself seems OK but the add-on 12v PSU is about what you expect at the price they come out of the factory at...

You might want to consider charging at half an amp instead of 1A. Realistically, this sort of electronics is not built to handle amps of current. If you look at the components you might wonder how they even handle 300mA. Also it's better for a battery to charge it at 500mA instead of 1A, the service life will be longer. Unless you are in a hurry of course, but in the end it pays to have spare cells you can rotate.
