xx Mg per what volume/unit? HELP...

I am about to start mixing my own ejuice but there is still one major question I can't resolve before i begin.

When you get a (premixed) bottle of ejuice in, let's say, 18 Mg strength; is it 18 Mg per ml, per once, per bottle, per liter, per gallon or 18%.

Assuming that you are using a cart that contains 1 ml, if it's 18 Mg per ml, that would mean that ± every cart refill would put 18 Mg of nicotine in your system.
But, if it's 18 Mg per 30 ml bottle, you would only be absorbing 0.6 Mg of nicotine per refill, and would have absorbed 18 Mg ONLY once you finish the bottle.

I've tried to refer to packs of analogs for a guideline, but then aren't really useful either as they say ..."1.1-2.3mg per unit".. and don't define if a "unit" is a single cigarette or the whole pack.....

nicotine liquid is mg/ml like 18mg is 18mg per ml

cigarettes depend on what strength and length cigarette. My lights were .9 mg each. My ultralights were .5 mg each. full strength cigs are often 1.2-1.5 mg per cig. Some like American Spirits may have more.

For me as a lights smoker (1.5-2 PAD), my pack of cigs had 18mg and 18mg liquid worked fine for me and I vaped about 1.5 PAD worth of drags. Full strength smokers - some are oK on 18mg. many on 24mg, some need more. But it does depend on how much you vape versus how much you smoked, how frequently you can vape (someone who can only vape on smoke breaks may need higher nic than someone who can vape at their desk).

You can't figure out exactly how much nic you are vaping. It is absorbed differently, different atomizers vaporize more or less, people have different size mouth and lungs. if it feels right it's right. If you get headache, rapid or irregular heartbeat, cold extremities, ill or light-headed, then you are probably getting too much nic. If you are having analog cravings or feel unsatisfied, it may or may not be the nicotine amount - you need to try a bunch of juices and hone in on what makes you feel satisfied. Remember to let your nose have some of the vapor.

For me, for the first 6-8 weeks I was not satisfied unless it was a tobacco juice with good TH. Still something was missing and I kept trying juices and looked for a tobacco w/ cocoa in it because my old old fave cigs had noticeable cocoa (most cigs do have cocoa in them). I tried backwoods Brew Casablanca and between the slightly nutty pungent Turkish tobacco and the cocoa it just hit the spot for me. Sometimes I add more cocoa to it in the cart or carto with FreedomSmokeUSA Cocoa. I also liked FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship (a stronger Turkish blend) and added FSUSA vanillas, chocolate, oRYental 4 to change up the flavor. Eventually I started just vaping the mixers most of the time - I found vanillas and a good dark chocolate (I use Vapor4Life WOWbacco) now work well for me.

WOW, thank you ALL.
(Nomoreash: I downloaded the calculator, thank you)

I am still at the "trial and error" stage mostly because the flavour out there are for "American" cigarettes. I have abandoned the idea of finding something similar to what used to smoke (Player "Lights", which would be considered Full Strength in the U.S., but not as harsh (less TH) than most us brand).
Dormouse those combinations sound absolutely delicious (especially the vanilla/dark chocolate one) I'll have to try it.
From reading your reply I think I may have to up my Nic level slightly and/or try new juices (I want to try the RY4 that everyone seem to like) since I've been cutting down some 54 mg nic from totally wicked to about 10.8 Mg (20%) and going through ±2 ml / day.
The Players I used to smoke were 1.1 to 2.3 / analog, so 27.5 to 57.5 per day (Canadian Packs = 25 cigs per), so that would explain my, still existing, craving for analogs
