Yay! Got my VK! But I have a 'taste' question...

I'm so happy! Steve was so kind to include a bunch of extras in my shipment...what a guy! Very nice.

Since this is the very first time I've 'vaped', I'm getting a little concerned about something...the taste. To me, the taste seems 'chemical'. Is it just because the carts are new? Or is this the real taste?

I'm pretty sensitive to perfumes, etc, and even the coffee flavor (which is the most bearable to me, at the moment) has a strange chemical aftertaste. Anyone else out there experience this?

I'm thinking that if all carts taste like this, I may not be able to vape. I'm very sad about it.

Carts often need to be "broken in"...the vape will become more smooth and even after a few hits...also, give yourself a few days...your sense of taste will change as well...

There are tons of flavors out there, and tons more to come, you find some you love and some you don't...but for me personally nothing is worse than that Fire Safety glue crap they put on Marlboros before I quit!!! yuk!

I got my VK yesterday too. I don't want to cast any dispersions (Steve was great and took very good care of me!), but I am having a tough time coming to grips with the flavors too. My benchmark is my 510, which I primarily run with ECOPure, Vermont Vapor VG, and NHaler Lung juices. And I realize that those VG based liquids are substantially different than the traditional PG stuff... and they probably set an unreasonable expectation for vapor production.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions. I'll vape on the VK for a few days, empty some carts and do some refills with my traditional liquids. Then I'll see what I think.

The only one that tastes 'chemical' to me is the Red Bull, and thats only when I first wake up(weird). I would agree that giving it a couple of days to adjust will most likely take care of it. Also there is the psychological issue of "what the hell am I ingesting with this device". But there is nothing in there that should give a real chemical taste. I dont notice this on most carts even when they are new.

I actually put all of the cartomizers in a tupperware container, and when I smell the container, it's that same 'smell/taste'. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Does VG taste the same as PG? Or maybe is it the flavoring itself that's giving me this strange taste/smell?

Another bit of info that I forgot to include: I'm vaping zero nic. Does that make a difference?

I think I'd actually prefer something with a lot less flavor. I have heard that zero nic carts usually have more flavor, so maybe that's the issue.

Give it a few days, especially if you are coming straight from cigs to vaping. I actually prefer the taste of these cartos to what I was getting from my 510, although I must admit Nhalers juices were very tasty. I bet when you refill with the liquid you get you will like the taste much better. Steve always tosses in a few samples and they are very good when I refill. When it comes to flavors and taste, it is so subjective. The only 0nic I have tried thus far is the cappuccino and it was great tastewise, but I need a little more kick so will go back to the 6 or 8 for my nightime vaping.

Hope you get this sorted out! But if you find it is not for you and think dripping would suit you better, I would be happy to swap your VK stuff for a brand new never been used 510 black titan starter kit!

I am going to give it a few days, for sure. I love everything else about the VK at the moment, just not the taste of the carts. I haven't smoked an analog in over 3 weeks, so I don't think that's the issue.

My husband always teases me that I have a super-sensitive sense of taste and smell. He thinks I'm a freak, actually, so I'm sure it's just me. I'm def going to keep trying and see if I become accustomed.

Yes, I think it's just a 'breaking in' thing. I'm sure it'll be fine. As I mentioned before, I have an immensely sensitive sense of smell and taste (even when I was smoking analogs), so I'm sure that since I've quit the cancer sticks, my senses are more keen. No worries, but I'll let you know how it all turns out in a few days.

I did, however, buy some 6mg cappuccino carts, for those 'special' moments when I'm either super ......-off, or a little drunk.

I failed to mention that Steve threw in a bottle of Peach Nobacco (High). I'm going to assume that this is PG liquid.. but regardless, I have to say, amazing stuff! Great flavor (using it currently in my 510 since I haven't emptied a VK cart yet!) and wonderful vapor!

It's definintely the ZERO nicotine cartomizers that taste funny. I popped on a 6mg cappuccino, and it tasted fine (aside from the major throat hit and sending me into a coughing fit). Not sure why the nicotine makes the vapor taste so much better, but it really does.

i just started vaping today and the first hit tasted funny and i coughed a little took about 2 hours of vaping every 10 mins or so
now i like it, i do pick up that chem. taste/smell you are talking about its just the hg

When I first started and once in a while now I try to vape too quickly and I get a sorta melted nylon taste. I think it's because I'm not taking loooooong sloooow drags. Slow down a bit and see if that nasty taste goes a way.
