I've used cigalikes and pen-style PVs for months but stepped up to eGo format recently with an EVOD kit. The EVOD clearos are well-made/designed and I'm working on optimizing them for myself (messing with the wicks and so on) but I kinda miss the warmer vape and freedom from leaking/gurgling I had with my little disposable E-smarts. D'ya think a Kanger T2 (long wick version) might bring me some joy? What's your favorite eGo-threaded top-coil clearo?

Me too, but I'm hoping that it's just that bottom coils are newer and getting more interest. Of course, if demand drops off, Kanger may drop it to simplify their product line. They seem to be moving toward a universal bottom coil that fits a number of their devices. Evods and Protanks just didn't give me as much flavor, so I'm going to stock up on T2 heads soon.

I know it's a 510 thread but I still enjoy the vape from my Vision Vivi Novas (mini). When their re-wicked with cotton at 1.2 - 1.5 ohms, the taste and vapour production is almost as good as my Kayfun Lite. Plus I'm not worried about scratching/dropping/losing them ;)

I'm relieved to hear that I'm not the only person noticing less flavor from the EVOD vs. a top coil. Most people seem to love them. Like I said, while the EVOD's design and construction appeal to me and its vapor production is very good, there's just something missing.

I've always felt warmth carries flavor and the good top coil tanks have that edge on the bottom coil varieties.

The T2 has become my preferred clearo. I've tried EVODs and the Protank but don't like them as well. I just get a better, more consistent vape from the T2. More flavor and better TH. I think the warmer vape from the top-coil is a factor.

I've been re-wicking the T2 with cotton and it has worked well. Cotton for the coil wick and one silica flavor wick. The cotton wick needs to be changed out somewhat frequently (especially with dark liquids) but that's no big deal. A bag of organic cotton balls will last a long, long time.

I have noticed that some T2 heads perform better than others. Just differences in the product I guess. I just received a couple new T2s with the long wicks which I've never tried before. Always used the short wick version. I've become accustomed to the "tip and twirl" method.

i was using T2 for a while... really liked em- found that they lasted a while... could clean em with warm water and refill without hassle... but recently started using CE5 replaceable coils and find i get more flavor... i have and keep trying to use the kanger t3s bottom coil. tried both LR and SR - hubby digs em, i not so much. even though i worked out all the leaking kinks and such... can rinse and reuse almost right away... but, the vapor is not big enough for me... the vapor is light... the th is light...

been reading that the new Tumbler beats the heck out of the EVOD and T3's... hear it really is warm vape and lots of vapor! anyone try that yet?

I tried the iClear30 today and it's pretty good. Too bad I ran outta RY4 so I can't really test this one, vs my current fav, the Vision VT.
Both are the best I've tried. No leaking whatsoever on the Vision VT, a little bit with the iClear (I guess it's the fact you can change drip tip. So far my guess is that interchangeable drip tip = gurgling/leaking prone).
The iClear16's for me are.. so so... like I said before in another thread.
The aClear Vivi Nova leaked like crazy and some cheap T3 knock-offs completely and utterly sucked.

Got 5 long-wick 2.2 Ohm T2s on the way. I've also ordered a couple of Mini T3S which, although they're bottom coil, I'm hoping I might like better than the Evods.

let me know how you like the mini t3s - i have a feeling something about the smaller 'tank' will make them awesome. i am getting a few of those next time my budget allows me to place an order for fun stuff!! :)

Tucson, it's a dry heat
I'm really liking the iClear 16s - I haven't had any problems with them at all. My loyalties lie ultimately with EVODs, but when I want a warmer vape, I go to the iClears. I stocked up on some for winter (I imagine a warm vape would be nice in colder weather.) I have some iClear 30s, but have yet to try them. I like the small profile of the 16s.

"You have winter in Tucson?" asked the New Yorker ;)

I'm vaping on an EVOD as I write this and I'm still astonished that having the coil a little farther away from my mouth can make such a difference in temperature and (apparently) flavor. I want to like this clearo - it's nicely designed and machined, functions well, makes lots of vapor and is available at low cost from just about every vendor. But it just doesn't turn me on. It's merely... pleasant.

People seem really polarized about the Iclears; I've read about an equal number of love 'em/hate 'em reviews.

I feel the same way about the EVOD, for all the reasons you mentioned. Plus, the heads are easy to rebuild. But alas, the EVOD sits untouched while I happily vape away on my T2.

The T2 is also easier to refill IMO - just unscrew the mouthpiece. Whereas with the EVOD the base comes off and it tends to be a little messy. Also, the liquid level is hard to discern through the EVOD's little window (I did get a clear EVOD recently). Don't have that issue with the T2.
