Some of you guys are young and may need additional info. The girl I worked closest with was born in 1976. I was born in 62. I was amazed by what went over her head.
Ever want to refer to flip-flops as thongs, then have to check yourself? Happened to me talking with my 30 year old coworkers last week...
US? Off topic? There has not been one day or more than a few pages where one of us is not discussing our struggles with smoking and vaping. I tend to be quite wordy because I do not have a life filled with a job, kids, etc., but I think we stay on topic better more than a lot of the other threads do.
If all we did was bemoan the fact that we want a cigarette and sometimes have one or several, this would be a depressing place and we all would be chain smoking as we type. I think what we do and say here is important. It helps us, and it helps the lurkers and people who are too shy to join in the conversation at any given moment.
Everyone I work with is young enough to be my kid, and some are young enough to be my grandkids.
Fortunately, they think I'm still cool. 
Snorkel jackets came back a few years ago. I used to tell a story about my red snorkel jacket. Anyway we were shopping at lunch and I saw them. My other friend cracked up and she not only didn't know what we were laughing at but didn't know which one was a snorkel.
