Jess! Congrats on nearly 5 days smoke free!!! (I checked my phone to see it ;))

Notorious! 12 days? WooHoo! I can't see your banner either. ;)

I don't have a banner! Mostly because I'm not sure how to set one up. But also because I like spending time in this thread, and I know a lot of folks haven't stopped smoking or don't plan to. I wasn't sure if it would be appropriate.

Hi Thaya, I sure as h_ll hope they are paying you time and a half or double time for this double shift baloney. Are you the only responsible person working in that place? This seems to happen fairly often. Is it the same person? Sorry you get stuck like that. They should have an on call person to relieve you.

Another stealth banner for you, huh? Well Jessermay has 4 day and I have 34 and you are all the way up to 45. We are all on a roll. Notorious has 12 days too, by the way. Congrats all around.

Good morning all. Unfortunately I missed all the fun yesterday...again. I had to work afternoons and then ended up being stuck working midnights as well when my relief called off...again. :( I've never met a more talkative bunch, but I love it!

Welcome to the fold, Karen. We are a core group of people just like you, who've had one helluva time giving up the cigarettes. We are all in various stages of the journey and have each other's backs. You are NOT a failure. You just haven't found total success yet, and may not. There's no rush. It will happen when it happens...or not. Don't beat yourself up, just do what you can do when you can do it.

Congrats, Jess! I agree with Shari. I got my banner for motivation and it works for me. Unfortunately, you've taken another page from Shari's book. I can't see your banner either!!!! :glare:

I wish I could see her banner...and yours. I'll have to get on my phone and check it out. That's still the only way I can see yours. Oooooh, pretty/shiny toys, yay!

Oh hey! It most definitely is appropriate!!! Show it with pride! People need to know that even tho' it's tough we do have some successes!

 Check in your "profile" settings for a banner!

Some of my double shifts are scheduled, but fairly regularly the same midnight girl on Thursday calls off and I get stuck there. She's the same one who comes in late most of the time. I don't know how she doesn't get in trouble, except to say that the manager doesn't want anybody to get mad at her.

The manager would have to come in if I 'refused' to stay, but then she would have to stay for day shift, too, which is difficult (been there, done that). I guess I'm just too nice.

P.S. I do get paid time and a half for overtime, which helps ease the pain. :p

Yes congratulations Notorious and jessermay, way to go. :)
I'm not quite ready for a banner yet but hopefully soon, down to one a day now.

Actually I had hoped that one in the evening would help me show down the vaping a bit so I could sleep better, until I can get some really low nic juice. I did vape less last night but I didn't sleep any better.

Lack of sleep is my only real problem with vaping. But I am vaping 24mg so I am sure that is a big part of it. When I can reduce it or slow down my vaping, hopefully sleep will come.

And you are doing pretty awesome yourself, if I may say so. Stopping the last couple of cigarettes seem to be the hardest ones. Give yourself time. If you forget about it, it may just happen on it's own.

One thing has my brow furrowed though, and I am not casting aspersion on smokers/smoking--I have to wonder about your doc actually advising, in any capacity, taking up smoking again. Can't say that feels right to me. But, if you decided that on your own, more power to you. But taking a doc's advice to smoke, that's a bit different, if not just foreign to me.

Canadian Health Care at it's finest? and who said getting things for free is never good.....:D ~quickly ducks at anything thrown at me~.....

I'd like to delve deeper if you'd be open to talking about this here.

To be honest and upfront i an teetering right now between trying it out again full time, but the whole "fear" and "OMG....What if..." is there as well......though (and again i am not speaking about anyone in particular, os saying anything bad about those already in this thread or those to come), but one thing i have learned with my wife is google is now our friend should a issue arise......and if the question is not answered in searching.....we wait about a week or two as someone is bound to come across the same thing.

    Welcome to the NutHouse Wolf,

Shhhh don't say that...my wife will want to lock me in there.......i do pop by to read threads of interest and then zip off to strap myself down into the cockpit, get on the battle field, close my eyes pull the trigger.............and swear more then a sailor

If you want one, you go and put one up. I don't remember how I got mine up there, I think it is an option in your profile. Maybe one of the others will steer you in the right direction. It really helps me in my success. The banner and the people here, that's why I am able to do so well. I have to warn you though. It has something to do with Greenwich Mean Time and math. I never got my numbers exactly to the hour so my days change at a weird time and I don't know how to adjust it. I am not a math person.

The last two nights are the first time I've had trouble sleeping since I started vaping, but I do go through cycles normally when I do this so I'm not positive vaping is the cause but thinking it is since my new order of 24 mg juices came in. I'm vaping more 24 mg which helps more on the smoking and trying to only use 18 in the evening, next order will have some lower than that for night time.

It may be psychosomatic for all I know because I've been in a "sleeping very well" mode for a while now, longer than my normal.

45 minutes and my day away from home begins.

I am glad that you are able to vape for a bit. And remember what everybody told me, don't get rid of the juices you used to love. Give it some time. This mouth thing may get better or back off a bit and then you will be kicking yourself for getting rid of that juice. By the way, has the dr given you some pointers on what might help you, or are you researching and winging it?

Does the juice cause your pain?

Don't get rid of your juices your taste may change again. I am noticing that mine is and the morning vape that I found almost nauseating last week tastes pretty good this week.

I'm not a math person either, but eastern time is -5 GMT so I think you would be -6?
I know this because my art teacher is in England and on GMT so I have had to learn this to make it to live online class sessions on time. lol

Ummm, I don't remember what I've told you or not.
The Oral Surgeon told me to stop all new medications .... which turned out to be alot!
I quit my last job back in March so had to drop my insurance since it was costing me almost 1000 dollar's every three months & we don't have it, so a lot of my perscriptions got changed. He also wanted me to get the EstroBlend out of my system before they did a blood test to see where I'm at & what to do about it from there on:) I was supposed to make an appointment today for that but I put it off:blush: I'm treating myself to my first ever massage today since Sat. will be my 53rd birthday & I've never had one before.
So far no help no ...... he has me taking 4 Motrin every 8 hours & 2 Tylenol every 3 hours ........that'll probably kill me if nothing else! Hahaha!

Not exactly no. But as we know cigarette's have a numbing factor that e-cigs does not provide so that is the difference for me right now; at times the pain is severe & I just can't handle vaping then:(
But oh yeah, the juice stays for awhile:)

Well, if you got locked up here in this thread for a while I don't think you would get bored for long. We are a pretty diverse group here and enjoy our time here and each other. And if you do decide to give it another shot you are welcome to stay with us and post away with us here and join in on the conversations. And ask questions too. We have a few pretty good researchers and link putter uppers here.

Yeah. I just played around in my profile for a bit and can't figure out how to switch on a banner. Maybe I should try searching...

I put banners in the search box at the top of ECF and a bunch of threads came up, there is one titled banners and he walks through how to do it very easily it's like the 2nd or 3rd post on the thread.
