I swear kids wait until you have no cash in you and no plans/ability to go anywhere (read, bedtime) to lose teeth. -.-

Swype + Tapatalk = maybe it's right
Just pretend it makes sense.

Exactly! 5 minutes before bedtime! And I almost never have cash, so the Tooth Fairy left coins.

Good morning everyone! Coffee? Have a great day!

Wow, I know I've come to this party late but regardless, it's nice to know I'm not alone when it comes to not feeling like being on the phone every day all day! Before losing most of my sight, I spent a large portion of my time on the phone handling customer service, dealing with contractors, dealing with techs in the field, handling orders for service, the primary for phone tech support & was often pulled into the field for tech repairs when short-handed or overwhelmed w/too many problems & too few techs, dealing with accounting w/regards to accounts-payable & the contract companies who subbed work from where I worked in order to assure they were paid on time & often led to some slight to massive squabbles btw me & the head of accounting that was so bad a few times I actually left my office to personally walk or hitch a ride from one of the guys on the floor going my way via TOMO (think bright orange industrial heavy-made golf cart (some w/tho others w/o the canopy top) to jump down throats personally considering I went from working - dating - dating exclusively - engaged - then married to the owner of one of the contract companies. In addition, I was such an asset when it came to data entry and mad computer skills that I was often 'loaned out' to departments within the company where my job was although my neck of the woods & the others who worked there were part of a separate company from the whole but still owned & operated by the subsidiary in addition to the parent company. I was personally loaned out to depts where their data entry work was severely backed up; in addition, the primary computer technician who handled the whole of the business' computer systems honed in on me b/c of my computer experience & I became the one with all the encryption keys to unlock the system in our office (it was privately designed just for our office) in order to correct problems as well as remove antiquated account numbers so they were able to be reused when the current numbers were falling short and we had dead accts that were sitting there with no reason to take up so much real estate when needed for new accounts.

I did such a great job maintaining and working within the primary server, repairing our backup tapes, and troubleshooting/repairing individual systems tied into our office's network server, I was again loaned out to various depts when they required tech support on the computer systems registering glitches that required repair when our computer guy was buried under a mountain of work he couldn't leave so I was called in to do the repairs, remove the glitches, & ensure everything was rolling along smoothly before leaving to return to my office - or to another dept with data entry or computer issues & I still had to find time to ensure there was enough stock available for our contractor companies' guys so they were able to do their various jobs in addition to handling all their orders (new & filing completed along with submitting their billing invoices, which had to match up with what I received along with the billing invoices for each of the contractor companies while also ensuring they received their checks on time along with pulling orders for work that needed to be taken care of by each of the contractors' areas of expertise so they had work to do... Often I had to bring work home with me in order to get it all done b/c there simply were not enough hours in the day; hwr, I received excellent compensation for the additional load put onto my shoulders)...

There are times when I miss the break-neck pace of things and how I was able to climb the corporate ladder, but I don't miss the hours I spent on the phone at work, the pager, & the brick cell when I was away from work in case of emergencies. It was so bad that ultimately I was setup with a portable unit complete with headset & boom mic that allowed me to rec' calls wherever I happened to be within the building & it was huge! I worked there for years and even w/the loan outs for my services, I never did get into all the areas of the primary building, not to mention the 2nd building that went up when the company outgrew the primary one (hence the covered canopy on some of the TOMOs as the 2nd building was across the road from the primary building but the TOMOs & walking employees had a private access to the other building to cut down on time going from one to the other as well as for safety reasons as the two buildings sat on an extremely business road often used to cut through from what was once a dirt road and then it was paved!)

DH can't understand why I hate the phone either. It took me a little over a year to stop answering my home phone with the company's name & my own b/c my brain couldn't disconnect from the long workdays & work-evenings & nights. It was still on the job or thinking of the job while my body was home for the day/night or weekend/holiday/vacation time and not on the job! It was one of the most annoying & even painful things I had to unlearn after I had to resign due to my loss of sight that prevented me from driving and since it's in a rural area despite the growth, even with special equipment, I was unable to keep working. Even if it had it wasn't that many years later when I learned about the 3, now 4 autoimmune diseases that cost me yet another career due to date in my right arm that is inoperable, causes severe pain, which prevented me from maintaining the 120+wpm w/99.9% accuracy in order to stay with my job. the autoimmune diseases are progressive as well and I had come out of remission in a bad way even though I never knew before I was diagnosed after coming out of that remission that I had ever had autoimmune diseases.

So I definitely feel your pain...

You do realize I'm going to have to stalk that thread and convince him that he simply *must own* at least 3 provari's if he's going to be successful...

My family doesn't get the fact that I never want to speak on the phone again...ever. :)

I was working tech support for this one company and had a call to check out a faulty keyboard. When I got there I found a keyboard that had coffee spilled all over it and a post-it note that read, "Failed Immersion Test."
