Alisa I have an SO who still smokes and hasn't fallen in love with the vaping idea at all. We also keep our finances separate and I still buy his smokes. He has enough money to buy his own but for years I've bought them because I smoked twice as much as he did and I carried them for both of us because he works hard at keeping below half a pack and has been trying to quit since he seriously injured his arm in 2002.
I'm probably not going to give a very popular response, but trying to force him to vape isn't going to work, it's just going to make him resent both you and vaping. You can't make him quit smoking or switch to vaping, he has to want to do that himself. Mine is going to have to start buying his own though, I've given fair warning about that since taxes are going up a LOT the first of the year and he agrees that he's not willing to pay that much more either. We split expenses pretty evenly between us but the house is his.

Believe me, you don't force this guy into doing ANYTHING...nor do you try. It's just not a good idea--I've learned the hard way. He was open to the idea, and gave it a try. End of. We've been just fine since I got home--no issue whatsoever. But I appreciate the (repeated) refrains that you can't force anyone to quit smoking.

Honestly, did that REALLY sound like what I was doing?

Edit: sorry if I sound so defensive, but it's really starting to bug me that people think I'm holding this guy hostage or something.

No, I read the thread and you were giving him another choice until he had money to buy his cigs.

Ok, I must either have no patience or whatever, but I got some atties to drip with so I can try out diy, and I can't taste any flavor, plus it's spitting through the mouth piece...am I doing it wrong?

im using dct carto without the tank, i put scotch tape around the punched holes and put some eliquid into the carto wait a few minutes then try the flavor. also how are you proceeding with diy, what method are you using?

Nooooooo it has been made very plain to me that he doesn't even want to hear about it, he has tried a couple and doesn't even come close to liking any of them other than possibly plain menthol. This is also a man who does not eat sweets, he tried one of the sweet vapes and nearly gagged. He also refuses to believe that it is any different than smoking, no safer, no less harmful and there are a couple of juices I'm not allowed to vape in the house because he says they stink. I'll not mention it to him again, I choose peace rather than being right. :)

I didn't think you were holding him hostage. :) Just sounds kind of like mine and here I can tell you the only real choice I have is to just not even mention it until/unless he asks me, anything else ends in a fight and even more hard feelings on my part. I'm too old and too far away from family to even consider leaving and I don't have enough income to go out on my own. I'm here till I die and it's not that bad, in fact it's pretty good most of the time, but there are times. lol, we've been together 15 years.

OK, I get it--I do. BF is the exact same way about vaping, although we don't fight over it.

For years, my parents thought I was with a bum and a jerk. He even sounds like that when I describe the more difficult aspects of our relationship.

If you've never dealt with someone with ADHD it's very hard to explain that they really truly cannot help the way they act.

Now that my mom has gotten to know him she absolutely adores him, and completely gets everything I was telling them about him.

All I ever used was those prefilled cartridges that came with my 808d battery (which I don't have problems popping the lid off and reusing), clearomizers and Evods. I have an Evod and a Ego-v v2 (set it @ 3.8 volts), and they're 2.0.

Premixed some 50/50 and 2 drops of apple concentrate (LA) per ml..so maybe the flavoring's not strong enough? Didn't use any sweetener in it yet though

*sorry for the late response, had to give some ear time to hubs*

Quick post as I run out the door to work. Jason is still in the hospital and they still aren't sure whats wrong with him. They are going to do another biopsy to see if they can figure it out. It's been a week since he first went to the ER. Today was the first day I didn't go visit him. So glad his parents are local now and can be there for him.

Sorry to hear that about Jason. Don't sign anything regarding him or his stay there. Good to know that his parents are close and they can visit with him more and take on the responsibility. If he has no job or insurance, charity or the state will write off his bill or they will get him on Medicaid and there will be no bill.

Is he feeling better? I am hoping that you are doing ok.

Sorry, I wasn't thinking  , I tried it on my 808d and used this.. DSE901 Standard Resistance 901 Atomizer (Black) [DSE901STDBLK] - $1.99 : for it and got the spitting, but did purchase the other one for my evod & ego-v and was going to try it out but since that happened with the cig a like, was hesitant to use those (tired and not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow)

How are you filling them? Are you being careful to not get juice down the center? Have you watched any of the carto tank filling vids--I had to watch 4-5 when I got mine. I still have issues with spitting right after I fill up the tank (carto's fine until I add juice in the tank). Usually in 12 hours the spitting is gone and I'm a happy camper.

The filling technique should be the same, only you skip the tank part.

what i do if i run into that problem is up the voltage, usually im running at 3.8V - 4.0V, ill up it 0.4V to burn the coils hotter a few puffs then move it back down to norm settings. i run a 2.5 Ohm
