Yet ANOTHER One Year Vaping Anniversary in the V4L Family

The support from this group made this possible for me. vaping while others are smoking and making stupid asinine comments to me ("you still smoking that fake cigarette?" and other favorites) may have been enough for me to give up my Vapor King in the early months. The feeling of being in such a minority and the negative attitude from some people didn't affect me (as it normally would have), because being part of this community has given me the strength to feel the utmost confidence that I have done the right thing for my life.
A year ago I thought it would be cool to cut down from 15 cigs/day to maybe 1 or 2 and that vaping would make it an easy transition. I didn't want to quit. I liked smoking. I liked it a lot! What a surprise it was for me to actually find out I PREFER vaping. I smoked for 35 years and I will be a vaper for the next 35 years.
My starter kit was a birthday gift to myself that I received the day before my birthday last year. So today I have another birthday to celebrate. One where I can smell, and taste, and breathe clearly.
After seeing me vape for seven months, my sister handed me a hundred dollar bill and said "order me the vape stuff". She had never seen anyone vape except for me and she's been vaping since November. We will both be around to enjoy each other for a longer period of time, and not dying due to a smoking-related illness. That is worth gold to me.

Congrats TU4V! Our stories are very similar....I got the kit in July, 2010 for my BDay, and I am about 3 months behind you for Veteran status!

Your avatar reminds me of a matchbook cover I kept for years because it had a chimp on it. The chimp is at a betting window speaking to the cashier and says "what do you mean, no refunds?, I changed my mind!" Doesn't sound so funny to me now but I used to roar at that chimp.
