Just got mine today, it shipped with latest firmware. However is there a driver issue with 64bit windows?

Using Windows 7 64bit, and when I try to install drivers it just instantly fails install. I've tried everything I can think of and same results. Anyone run into this?

I've not had issues with other Yihi boards/driver install. A Bit stumped on this one.
Try running the driver installer "as Administrator"

The installer has the driver packed within, don't believe that would work in this case, as no actual driver files are available to place anywhere.

You should have a folder called "YiHiEcigar" on your computer. In that folder is another folder called "Windows USB Driver". In the x86 folder you'll find the USB drivers you need to install on your computer. Sometimes the installer doesn't install them for some reason, so you need to do it manually.

Very annoying! As I said Winblows 7, WITH WDF 1.11, which I've confirmed is on my machine.

I just picked my g class up yesterday and all I can say is WOW, both negative and positively.

I have used an M class and a Q class. Im somewhat familar with Yihi products

The negatives, which are REALLY negative!

The negatives are really bad. Everything related to UI and setup are the worst I have ever seen on a device of this price point. Getting the driver installed was a PITA. It kept telling me I had an atomizer detected. Getting it to detect my device was spotty. Getting the bluetooth setup so I had the ability to customize on my phone screen is setup poorly. Oh, and the latest firmware install? It refused to copy the entire firmware file over leaving me with an unusable device until I could get it to copy the entire firmware file over. Thankfully, it doesnt brick the device with a partial copy.

The UI on the device is terrible. For those that think they will get it because they are techy people, trust me, it makes no sense, I still dont understand it. Pushing left does one thing, pushing right does something completely different (youd think left and right would navigate around the main screen and up and down would change values - or, pushing the joystick in would select a value and left and right would change the values). However, I think the engineers at Yihi are drunk. I think they are vaping moonshine.

On the UI side of things, even the guys in the vape store had trouble getting this thing in temp control mode. It doesnt TELL you its in temp control, it wont tell you why it goes back into wattage mode, it is not helpful. Turns out, you need to lock your resistance by holding the stick in for 5 seconds, then some bizarre button combinations to switch to jules mode (if it says W after the big number, you are in wattage, if theres a J, its in temp control).

Installing the most current firmware puts your device in bypass mode. Try to figure out how to get out of bypass mode? Why is this enabled by default? No one knows.

The app to control it on your phone? You have to side load it? What? Oh, you want to find the app? Yea, its under the Q class, a completely different device.

The screen is terribly small. The fonts are super tiny. The background colours in the menu make the text even harder to read.

The pros are on the opposite side of the spectrum.

My setup - an aromamizer dual coil stainless steel alien clapton four x 28g claptons wrapped with a single 36g clapton. Resistance reads at exactly .01 ohms.

I have seen alot of reviews on this product and battery life gets a 1 sentence mention. The battery life is worth mentioning and explaining. On an RX300, a four battery device (and huge), Id leave a 12 hour work shift with 30% battery. On the G class, a two battery device, I left a 12 hour work shift with the same 30% battery left. Think about that for a minute. The G class is using half the battery of the RX300. This means a 2 battery device is an all day device. I ran in temp control most of the day on about the most intense coil setup on the market today and this thing still lasted me all day. Compare that to the Q class battery life. Actually dont, the Q class battery life is awful. AWFUL.

Are you listening Evolv? Your dna chips need some work in this department. I have a Triade with a DNA 250 chip in it and it barely makes it through a day.

Performance is amazing. Once you can actually get your firmware updated and get your settings in, I have never seen temp control actually work, yes, even Evolv has failed me in this regard. The amazing part is, temp control actually just works, once you can get it into TC mode. It isnt finicky. It doesnt just stop working for some reason. It just works. Thats how it should work. Sad to say that I have to even bother typing this paragraph in because jeeze, that is kind of how TC should work.

Did I mention 2 amp USB C charging? Evolv? Are you paying attention?

I am by no means an Evolv fan, nor am I a Yihi fan. They both fail in the UI department. It is time for Evolv and Yihi to open source their software and let the community do the UI, implement features, and fix bugs. Yes, I know Evolv is doing the 75C. However, the screen is too small, their is not enough storage space on the board for multiple themes (memory is cheap, Evolv is selling the boards for $80-$100 - put a gb of storage on there so people can store the setup software and multiple themes, charge a $1 more, no one will care).

The reason to buy this device is simple. Good performance, good battery life, USB charging, feels good in the hand. It feels REALLY good in the hand. Its not giant. Its just right.

Just be prepared to spend hours getting it setup and configured and then prepare to spend even more hours trying to change everything should you put another atomizer on it.

Right click on the exe and go to the compatibility tab and select windows 7 or windows vista
one of the first things I tried, does nothing nada.....

As for the UI, I found it rather simple, 5 minutes or so messing with it, no manual, no issues with getting around in it. Yes it certainly could be better, but no issues getting around, and I find changing modes pretty straightforward. Now If I can get this dang driver issue fixed, I'll be happy...

Shoot YIHI a email. They usually respond pretty quick.

A PRIME Example of Subjectivity vs. Objectivity......
Personally I agree with and am in the same Group as ccwaters (except the Driver/Install issues-all the best in inevitable victory over that hiccup).
Then again, same as the "Cons", completely a Subjective Observation & Opinion. Neither a Vindication nor a Conviction of the Device itself.
It Is what it Is.

We can see you are not a fan of Evolv or Yihi...

By the way I see that the Evolv 75 C and Yihi 550J boards can be bought retail for less than 80 to 100 bucks....

Good performance, good battery life, USB charging, feels good in the hand.

Performance I'll give you, although on the one I sold off, it had a buzz/hum when I vaped it in TC (manual TCR)

My battery life sucked, could have been the unit I had as I only had one functioning one. But 2 30Qs last me about a day on my other mods with the same tank. I changed batteries twice daily and once I had the third set in. I'm kinda set in my vaping ways, so it wasn't that I was vaping more.

I don't want to USB charge nor charge at a rate that is too high for good battery life (check Mooch for info).

Felt good to me too. Until the front fire button started bothering me. Just wasn't feeling it, but then, I've used side mounted fire buttons for a LONG time.

I give this a firm rating of 'Meh'. I understand that others love it, it was a red-headed step-child here.

For me using the joystick and the user interface has been great, it is actually anoying to use my other yihi devices after the G Class. I was fortunate enough to already be following this thread for awhile before purchasing my G though. I was already familiar with how it operates via the other helpful members on this thread.

Regarding your Triade you need to find a profile for the batteries you are using and add that via escribe. You really need to do that to most DNA mods to get the most performance out of the batteries. I usually get a few days out of my Triade but enjoy using my G a lot more.

I agree that the app and connecting via USB for the pc software can be rather annoying and Yihi should do better.

Give it some time with the UI, once you get use to it I think you will love it but if not then no big deal. I find it a lot easier to use then a DNA mod with all the different button combinations you have to remember.

Just calm down, take a vape and give it some time. I hope for the price you paid you come to appreciate it but if not the used market for sxmini mods is pretty good.

I've had my G for a month so far and I like it better than YIHI's previous classes. At first battery life wasn't as good as the Q class but after YIHI released a update that allowed me to turn off the logo on the back the battery life improved and is on par with the Q class now.

Ive done that :). I get about a day on the Triade but it has to run on 3 batteries. The G class runs for a day on only 2 batteries.

I am a low wattage low temp kinda guy. The aforementioned watts (60) and temp (420) might seem high, it isnt for the setup Im using.

I kinda wish the aromamizer plus had a single coil option because dual coils are nothing more than a battery and juice burner. The second coil doesnt add enough to be worth using imo...

I can agree with most of that, except a few things, I don't think the UI is terrible just wonky.

& you should definitely try setting up a profile in escribe for those batts, I'm at 3 days on a pair of vtc5a's in dna250 (166) rn, .56ohm single 316L clapton @420F & 85watts.

I saw this thing for the 1st time about 5 hours ago, it has to be the ugliest mod ive ever seen, and ive seen plenty of Vapresso mods...

I once owned an SX Mini, happy to part with it after i found it was the most fiddly TC device ive ever had, too many things to set to get tc working properly. I miss its heft though! Then i got a DNA200 device. but that still wasnt as easy as my TreeBox...no atty lock (i do not miss holding down the up&down buttons every time i changed locations - even in the same damn house), no room temp settings, no joules malarkey, and no rattlesnaking!. Just set the wire/coil type and temp and press the fire button. I have a few of the things, best mod i ever bought. 1/5 the price of the SX and 1/2 the price of the DNA200. The DNA75C though is calling to me....most of the functions are now on the device, no need to tether to EScribe.

But the G Class is ugly as sin, sorry. And unless theyve changed the amount of thigns you have to fiddle with to get TC working i wont be SX'ing it anytime soon. Easily the most overrated chipset out there. A friend who shall remain nameless says his only gripe with it is the green menu system :)
