Yikes...cartomizers?

What e-cig are you using? I was using atomizers with cartridges for a while, while they kinda worked, they were pretty lame IMO. If you are using an e-go, the 15 C.C.V. Mega LR 1.7 (THE RESURRECTOR) are REALLY nice. Easy draw and hit well. I'm a noob but they were NIGHT and DAY better than the atty and cartridge combo for me. Just look for some vids on how to fill them.

A carto(mizer) is a combination atomizer and cartridge. They are disposible, but they can be refilled a number of times. Modern cartos can last as long as some atomizers. they usually have a less airy hit to them, which means a slighter stronger punch. They are great.

Most people use either an atomiser with a drip tip for dripping or a carto for on the go. User preference.

So a cartomizer is an atomizer and cartridge together?
You are exactly right!!

What is the difference between "dripping" and what I'm doing?
When you drip you don't use a cartridge to hold fluid near your coil. The wick is the only thing holding fluid.

Dripping is just pulling off the cartridge you have and dripping 3 drops straight onto the bridge of the atomizer itself, then puffing off it straight. Most people use a drip tip though. Which is just a mouth piece that has a big hole in it for easy dripping down in there. Otherwise if you're hitting stright off the atomizer without a drip tip you are tailpiping it and that can be hot on the lips. Not recommended.

I'm still pretty much a noob, but I did the cartridge/atty thing for about a week. With that setup I would just find myself almost constantly wetting my cartridge as in every few "hits" and after that the cart started to taste dryish. In a sense that was kindof like dripping. Dripping is putting a few drops of e-liquid directly on the atty (without flooding it). That way you get max hit and flavor, but that drops off after a few puffs. A good cartomizer you pretty much fill up, hot on it a while and the flavor is mostly the same for a while, it's more consistant, but you don't really get the MAX flavor, IMO. I still like cartos the best.

I've got a 510 and I'm happy with the size...although I'm only into vaping about 3 days but I'm totally committed!! So a cartomizer is an atomizer and cartridge together?

On a 510, you'll like the Boge 3.0 cartos. Joogler has them and you get a free bottle of juice. Use the code ECF5OFF for $5.00 off your first order.

And does it end up being cheaper to go with cartos?

Not necessarily cheaper- cartomizers are disposable. But they cost about $1.30 each and you can use one about 3 days to a week or two. It might add up to 25 cents a day. They are disposable, but many people wash them.

It's difficult to predict how long an atomizer will last. The cartridge that fits on the atomizer can last forever basically. you can just replace the filling material.

The bonus with a cartomizers is a more consistant vape, no leaking, no mess and it holds double the amount a cart/atty holds.
