I thought the carts that came with my KR808D1 were empty because the invoice said the cart order was pending. So stoopit me drops some menthol drops on the hole, screw the cart onto the battery and draw! Liquid came out of the inhale end and I ran screaming to the restroom and washed my mouth out with soap and water. Did I over-react?

I put that cart aside and screwed on another and wow, the hit was fantastic. The flavor is green apple and I really couldn't tell the difference between that and the analogue Pall Mall menthol 100s. I think I might go down to 12mg, though, because I really want to decrease nicotine intake. Hoping to go even lower...

When you add liquid to V4L cartos take carto off the battery. Take the soft cap off the carto (stick an unbent paperclip in just far enough to pop out soft end cap) and add juice into the stuffing. I hold the carto at an angle with some tissue held on the threaded end. Afterwards clean up any drips totally, tilt the open end down toward a tissue and puff into the threaded end to make sure the air channel is clear (apparently where you put juice). And use a folded but of tissue to clean up any juice pooled above the stuffing. Then if you were just adding juice to an already damp carto, you can cap and vape.

If you were filling a totally blank dry carto, then let it sit for a while - rotate it various ways then let it lay on different sides to make sure every bit of stuffing in there is damp before using (else you could singe the stuffing).

If you bought auto batteries be extra careful not to get juice drips on the end of the battery - autos have a necessary drag sensor there.

And yeah - V4L often tosses in a couple of prefilled cartos as samples. Prefills always say on them what juice they are filled with. On some colors you may need a magnifier and good light to read it!
