I have been microwaving water and soaking tanks, cartomizers, atomizers, drip tips etc and then letting air dry. Today I noticed ( on my less used items ) there was still an odor of efluid on them so I heated Vodka in the microwave ( bad use of good Russian Vodka ) and let soak, then emptied and let the items dry. Would straight Grain Alcohol be more of an efficient means, with no after taste left over on the cartomizers/atomizers and tanks? I was thinking generic Everclear at the liquor store might be a good product for this. Plus it will evaporate quickly with hopefully no residue.

I use vodka as I always have some relatively (actually a pretty good locally made) inexpensive on hand, that said I will probably pick up some Everclear next time I'm at the liquor store. I really don't think you need to heat it other than it possibly helps thin-out any remaining fluid, I just let it soak a while...
Good luck :)

First I rinse under the sink, then a soak in some Everclear and rinse with a dropper a few times with the everclear and after it has soaked for sometime I heat up some water in the micro and after it comes to a boil I drop my atty's, carto's, etc. in and let them sit for about 5 min. then remove blow out excess water, blot dry with paper towel. You can also let them dry overnight or once you get the majority of the water out do some dry burns but have to be careful. Usually they are ok after you blow them out and blot dry. :)

Run through with hot water, soak in vodka for a day, shake out excess and let dry. Dry burn (only if I can see the coil to make sure I don't go too far) and scrape off residue. Blow off and fill. If it's a relatively clear non sweet juice and I have cleaned recently, I just rinse in hot tap water, blow out the tank with canned air, blot the wicks with a paper towel and fill immediately. HTH!

For Cartos try this:

I bought a 35CC syringe at Tractor Supply (2 for about $3.69 in a package) and attached 7/16in clear tubing (Lowe's 27 cents/foot) to it with black duct tape (incredibly strong) then I fill a tupperware with warm water and insert the driptip end of the cart in the other end of the tubing and suck water in and out about 6 to 10 times. Without removing the cart from the tubing I pump air through the cart a dozen or so times until there is no fine mist coming out of the cart. I then am ready to fill again, seems to work perfectly and the rig cost only about $3.00 to make (if you already have the duct tape) I'll followup in a few weeks with my experience on several more cartos. BTW a couple of my cartos had some thick sugary ejuices and those came out clean and odor and taste free.

Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing-alcohol) is different and not intended for consumption, yes we're talking miniscule amounts assuming a hot water flush after, best bet IMO go with vodka :)

Actually I just found that you can get [h=1]Polmos Spirytus Rictified Spirit 95% 500mL in Oz which I guess is similar to the Everclear.[/h]
I think I'll get some of this and give it a go.

Cheers

I've found that just blowing them out, and running through water and blowing them out with water seems to work fine. After they don't pull as much, I felt the dry-burn method restored them pretty well. But I have heard warnings that this can damage the atomizers, so I don't know that I will do this much more. I recently heard of using a waterpik (teeth cleaning gear that shoots a strong burst of water) and I plan on using that. I think it will be effective at removing gunk stuck inside, but I read that you should keep it on the lowest setting. I haven't had much luck with soaking in various substances or even boiling.
